they way the balcony at ND's new rink looked on TV it seemed almost like Matthews Arena where it is steep and on top of the ice. Looked like a great place to watch a hockey game

Agree that it's a tough, tough way to lose but disaggree that there is a goaltending problem. Granted Milner probably should have stopped that shot but he's played well most of the season and has kept them in some games. Not to mention there is some talent waiting in the wings.

I've been shocked we haven't seen a single game of Billett yet but with our upcoming schedule we probably won't see him till 2012 (maybe that random Tuesday game against PC in December?)

Then again I'm not in practice.

^^^ i agree but we gotta trust Jerry................we really need to win this game next week for our psyche going into the BU weekend a 4 out of 5 tailspin needs to be avoided though it still is only November........

Agreed. On Ohio State fan tellls me the CCHA refs have the replay option but seldom go to it.

..good catch.

They actually had their (architect/ engineering) design team over on campus at Matthews for a few days during the planning process. I believe they had a team go to a couple different venues to get a good mix. From what i've heard (we play 'em in South Bend in 10 days), they did a good job.

Actually, while the CCHA refs are just about the worst, they typically go to the review too much in my opinion. In this case, they didn't need to because rule 6.19 of the new edition of the NCAA hockey rule book states that if a player bats the puck to the opposing goaltender, the play is to be whistled dead. If you watch the replay, the ref is beginning to make the "hand pass" call and bring the whistle to his mouth just as Mike Johnson is trying to catch/stop/poke check the puck as the BC guy gets the puck on his stick and pass it. Based on the new rule, this was the correct call.

Sorry from the angle the ref was at there's no way you can tell me the ref definitively saw the puck hit the goalie's stick before Arnold's.

You couldn't tell on replay without having to look through the net, the post, & the goalie in slow motion. The ref blew the call, plain & simple.

i had to rub my eyes twice looking at the scoreboard this morning, Yale did lose to 0-7 Sacred Heart 7-6 last night, right?:confused::confused:
