BOSTON COLLEGE 2025 - 2026

Hard to believe but today is the 20th anniversary of BC's 5-0 beatdown of BU in the Worcester regional final, sending BC to the Milwaukee Frozen Four where they stunned North Dakota in the semis behind a Chris Collins hat trick and got within a whisker of the national title. It was an important one as it set the stage (along with a stunning failure in 2007) for the 2008 national title and kept the even year iterations going through 2010 and 2012.

I'm sure in some corner of the internet that picture of the BU fans crying from the Worcester Telegram and Gazette is still around. 😁

Good times back when we had players with grit and the GOAT behind the bench. A lot has changed in 20 years.

I remember that one very well. Lost to BU 4 times that year. It was great to see the BU players parade to the box at the end of the game. They were frustrated and pissed off, Rooney had a great game, 2 goals and two assists.

KEVIN!!!!!!🫣🫣

😝

We need two good defenseman to replace the holes left by Gustafsson, Fortescue and Minnetian. Radivojevic and Kostadinsky are the only two solid D-men left, and I am not sold on the latter, as he is big and slow. M. Hagens struggled early on D, Skahan is a train wreck-and will likely transfer out. Joyce is a train wreck.
Carson Woodall looks like.a great pickup as an offensive D-man. Can he defend well enough, is the question.
Callum Croskey-CHL-looked to have a good season in the Canadian JR’s and will likely arrive in the fall.
Cameron Chartrand is a big question mark, because he was injured and tried to come back and could not stay in the lineup. He may need to get healthy and play another season. Wathier (USNDT) also got injured and missed two months.. I watched him one game and he looked lost out there. Doubt he comes this Fall.
Transfer portal is a likely need here.
Lots of promising forwards coming-Pelletier (led USHL in goals) is a sniper. Graham jones looks like a quick skating, playmaker.. Teddy Mutryn had a break out offensive season in with Moncton. Casey Mutryn put up mediocre numbers with USNDT, but he looked good when I watched him play a game in mid-season.
Brady Kudrick had a good season with Chicago Steel, does not look like a top 6 forward, but you never know.
Where are the Brian Gibbons, Tony voce, Ryan Shannon, Ben Smith, Pat Mullane, Steve Whitney, type players who were fast playmakers that created offense?
We need to go back to finding speed and playmakers and forget the big and slow types IMHO. I like Oscar Hammer, but is he a fast enough skater?
I hope Brown remembers the great York teams and returns to that formula.
This year’s freshmen class was mediocre at best. Cornforth departed because he was buried on the 4th line, with no path to development.
We need another goaltender in here to compete with Cloutier. He was better than I expected, but less than the elite goalies we faced..

Good summary, I know very little (besides names) of the incoming group. I was surprised to see Skahan demoted over Joyce who was getting less 8 minutes ice time most games, but as has been pointed out it wasn't defense that led to the season ending tail spin it was offense. Hemming joined when he was 17 so he is very young but he needs to develop a more well rounded game. Big body, good shot but limited handle. LC needs to get better, but I am not sure Korec will want to spend another year watching from the bench, I wouldn't. Agree with those players you mentioned, we need more of those guys, I believe they were all 4 year players. Throw in a Jonnie G, Hayes bros and Kreider as well though they only gave us three years they were special players. We had some stud goalies as well. Looking forward to next season.
