Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

so you are saying that they wanted to beat traffic?
would the same deserters have left early had BC been up 10-0, in order to beat traffic, or would they have been there, on the bandwagon, while the team was winning?

I think that Melissa Wade is right, that people should have shown the seniors and the entire team a little more respect. it would meant only another 15-30 minutes out of their lives. I am sure the players noticed that they had nobody behind them when they lost.

hey, the "bc way".

they come on and mock bu students when they wait after the game and chant "thank you seniors" after losing a beanpot or two, or at the regionals in a loss. but they all rush home to get enough sleep to get up for church and it's a-ok!

shame shame shame...

does bceagles.com have football practice schedules up on the home page :p

Ah yes, the great maine fans and the great bu fans all would have stayed till the bitter end around midnight. Give me a freakin' break. As someone else noted, they've gotten their due and should know by now what they mean to bc fans. I stayed and clapped for them but please get off your high horses.

With the avg at best play and intentional bad penalties, why should they hang around and clap.
Union played them Like a fiddle and exposed the narrow shoylders

3 National Championships in the last 5 odd years.. yeesh..
bound to have a down year or so.

You guys will be fine.. wish we had .. 1/2.. 1/3rd.. of your 'problems'.

Do not think anyone's getting 3 in 5 anytime soon..
(that was a sour grape alert). :)

Considering the glut of worthless forwards perhaps it was silly to kick KJ Tiefenwerth to the curb? You have to wonder about the staff when they evaluated some of these kids and told him he wasn't going to crack this lineup. There has to be a lot of nervous kids right now with this class coming in. Most don't belong anyway.

How about captains next year? I'm putting Arnold at good odds to wear the C. After that I am not sure... Might see a junior or two get an A.

3rd lines from the last couple of seasons:
09-10: Kreider-Smith-Hayes
10-11: Almeida-Arnold-Whitney
11-12: Gaudreau-Mullane-Carey

This season, the 3 on the 3rd line have 26 points in 215 career games

I'd agree that there should be a good amount of nervous kids heading into the summer. A lot of players who have been accustomed to playing every night are going to be in suits.

Arnold is a layup for the C. How about Q Smith for an A?

No big deal, a lot of people show up for the Pikes Peak banquet to thank the seniors too. Always a fun event and usually well attended.

Seniors also were recognized on senior night for their 4-year accomplishments, 2 NCAAs, 4 Beanpots, etc.

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

There's a reason you have senior night ceremonies (BC also got blasted in the *** on that precious senior night). BC should thank their lucky stars Northeastern did the dirty work in the Piszpot so these guys had SOMETHING to hang their hats on. BU would have stuck it in BC in the pot too,

Did these guys head to a CVS for a morning after pill?

Honest to god hoky, do you ever take the time to comprehend what you're responding to?

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

Carmine, that would have required bu's seniors to actually accomplish something on the ice and win a trophy.

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

and 3 more saturday (I thought the holding call was bogus)

I was sitting by the glass when Mullane was tackled from behind, but no call.

Whitney got flagged and UC made BC pay on the PP.

UC totally bottled up BC and BC was never in the game. The 3rd goal was the clincher IMO at the time because you could tell BC was having a lot of problems.

Parker Milner this year has been consistently bad on high shots. That 3rd goal where he got beat was typical. The pp goal on the 1st UC goal was a beautiful shot. No one on the weak side to cover the skaters standing alone and the shooter just picked the corner with a zinger.

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

Hayes / Fitzgerald / Gadreau
Cangelosi / Arnold / Calnan
Straight / Richardson / Gilmour
Smith / Linell / Silk

Mathewson / Santini
Doherty / McCoshen
Macleod / Savage

For BC to have any success next year, either some of the under performers are going to have to have Chris Collins or Barry Almeida Type turnarounds or a couple Freshmen are going to have to put up big numbers from the get go.
And if only one scoring line develops out of this group, break that line up and develop no scoring lines. Never too soon to start thinking up the possibilities, eh?
BTW... Linell struggles playing wing. How's he going to play center?

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

This team wouldn't have done any better if the top line was reunited...it is what it is

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

First time seeing Gaudreau in person. He must have had a bad game because he actually hurt BC more than he helped. Very little intesity and no desire to battle on the boards. It seemed like his teammates eventaully did not want to give him the puck.
21 goals so he is obviously talented but it did not show last night

We'll never know. But guess what? If you mix just a little chicken chit with a lot of chicken salad, it's still gonna taste like chicken chit.

Re: Boston College '12-'13 Part III: Save us Hobey-John Gaudreaubey; you're our only

As for Linell, wasn't necessarily showing one's position, just more the lines in general.

Linell had an epic shift in the 1st where he got juked at the point and lost his balance and slid all the way across the ice without being able to get up (20 ft at least?) before face planting himself into the boards.

Classic. The only thing missing from last night was Milner scoring on his own net.
