^^DU doing pretty well themselves as usual................my heart was in my throat when JG came off clutching his forearm. I didnt see what happened, maybe a Bigos slash??:eek:Excellent crowd of 6600, like all Friday and Saturday games, hear that HE schedule makers? This team works it's butt off for a full 60 minutes ,every game. I was squirming a bit at 3-0 but hey, did anyone think we were toast at that point?:)

Yes, if they had scored a 4th goal.

After the TO, BC gave up another goal to make it 3-0 and incredibly staged a 5-minute comeback to tie it.

Whitney is really stepping it up this year. Can't underestimate his contributions, like Almeida last year.

Next game is at home against the Green from Dartmouth who lost last night for the 1st time to Colgate.

and who blew a 4-1 lead in the third..........I think we've been waiting for this from Whitney. We have seen glimpses of it since he was a freshman but now he's bringing it every night and has subtracted the mindless penalties. He was great during the run last year(as was everyone else) . He's just a really good hockey player

When it was 3-0 I was questioning if this was the type of team that could come back and didnt really think so. Shame on me. The two times they've been down 3 this year have both ended as wins.

Check the vid on bceagles.com for a great view of that Whitney goal from right behind Marotta. He drew the puck back inside and snapped it off quickly between the Dman's legs and right under the bar.

Filthy.

Whitney does have the capability of scoring dazzling goals.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

At 3-0 we had 'em right where we wanted 'em. Never a doubt in that one! :p

Smith playing with Arnold/Hayes added some big energy to that line. I think we will see some very good things happening with that trio.
FWIW... Marotta was on his head in the first period, and that doesn't count a number of missed back door ops that jumped over our stick. Could have been 3-0 BC after one. Kudos to MC and Marotta for keeping us off the board in the first.

Why do Merrimack defensemen like slamming opposing players into their goaltender? Just curious.

I liked when bigos hit silk. Clean check but then for reasons unknown goes after him as if silk did something. Meathead. Nice seeing macleod jump in.

sort of chalked it up to not their night, slow bounceback from a big weekend, etc. It wasn't even like we were being outplayed that badly, our shots were just finding pads and theirs the back of the net.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

I don't know if anyone else tried to watch and listen to the game on bceagles.com, but the sound quality was terrible (when there was sound). The alternative is watching live and listening with a 2 minute delay on 98.5 on-line. Perhaps someone should tell Ken Hodge, Ryan Johnston and the tech guy, that even if they are on a commercial break on 98.5, you can still hear them on bceagles.com. So comments like:

"Hey, do you have 4,000 friends you want to invite to the game?"
"I gotta go take a p*ss now."
"Why is it there is a problem every **** time I call a game here?!?"

Those can all be heard by people listening on-line.

People forget that when Steven Whitney committed, he was considered one of the top 2 or 3 forward recruits in the country. The kid has big-time talent for sure and after years of playing in the shadows, is now one of the go-to guys.

was it him, or arnold too that when y'all got the first one you were excited that it would help get the younger brother (i forget there are so many. heck, could be all of them :p )

It was when we got Joe Whitney (Steve's older brother), that some said it was as much to get a leg up on getting Steve as anything else. Of course, Joe ended up being a pretty good player himself, to put it lightly.

50 points as a freshman and one of the biggest goals in BC hockey history. Obviously without his diving goal in Worcester against Blasi's Fighting Failboats, BC doesn't bring home the 2008 title.

And then Steven gets 2 goals in the 2012 title game.

That's not forgetting they both got the ring in 2010 as well.

Worked out well for BC.

Best family connection in BC history? Giontas and Orpiks did well but the Whitneys really nailed it. 4 championship rings (and counting) for the Whitney family.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Just wondering BC, are you thinking about Dartmouth being a threat?

yes, no opponent is ever taken lightly in Jerry's killbot factory:eek:..................now, in action around Hockey East saturday night............. oh, wait:rolleyes:

either way, we won't have to read about people not giving DC the proper respect and casting their #1 votes for the green this week

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

I'm expecting a "comfortable" win for BC, but I haven't seen Dartmouth play.
