That is why every TV appearance and ad from the Dems needs to hammer the point home.

I dont think we are bluffing...early voting and the absentee numbers are proving that. They are the ones bluffing because they dont have the numbers and know they need us to drop to have any shot to win.

Put it this way...if they ram someone through and lose the Presidency and the Senate they are looking at DC Statehood, Puerto Rican Statehood and higher taxes on their overlords. They will guarantee they lose the Senate for at least the next decade meaning they have zero power. They might get Roe repealed...but that will be undone as well.

They’ll try it but either a) their paymasters realize the consequences and they back down or b) they go through with it and face an angry, motivated Democratic base ready for blood.

No I am counting on him doing it. My scenario happens BECAUSE he will. Their arrogance level wont let them not do it. Their best strategy would be to wait. Outraging the Dem voters is going to destroy the idea of the Dems staying home. Even Politico wouldnt be able to do the DEMS IN DISARRAY!!1! stuff and that is literally all they have.

Ah. I still think it'd be bad for the left for a while... we'll see if the left would play hardball and do what you say.
 
The smart play would be for Trump to not nominate anyone, thereby protecting the vulnerable senators. The problem is he has to nominate someone to prove he's not a coward.

Makes me wonder if he knew how bad she was and that’s why he held is little presser on his picks just this week

I wont lie...thinking of Yertle the Turtle watching as he loses the Senate for the foreseeable future does make me smile. Hell outside of Cali splitting Kepler might end up the happiest guy on this board with what will happen. (packed court, DC and PR Statehood and most likely a lot of lubeless prisonraping of the GOP agenda)

Unless the Dems decide to quit this would be an LBJ moment. He knew passing Civil Rights and Voting Rights would cost the Dems the South for years but did it anyways because he believed it was the right thing to do. If the GOP does the same thing they will lose Congress for quite some time and the Presidency for at least 2 cycles. Who knows if they will even be able to get anything put through to the SC in time before the Court is packed. (I assume they have some Roe cases in lower courts ready but honestly dont know)

Yep. This is where a true politician would listen to the Party and do what is best for the long term health of the Party. He has never done that though because he is loyal only to himself.

In fact, Schumer and Pelosi should say to him he "cant" do it...that will guarantee he does it.

If Dump loses and the Nazis hold the Senate, or if Dump wins and they lose the Senate (which will not happen), they will definitely ram it through. If they lose the presidency and the Senate they may not do it.

"I wonder just how long she's actually been gone though. Have they been keeping her on ice trying to get close enough to the elections to try to keep Trump from nominating a successor?"
