BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Who was the BC player that turned the puck over on the 2nd Providence goal? No way to sugarcoat it, that was a "you're on the bench for awhile now" play.

I have been trying to figure out and the video just isn't clear enough. It's a single digit which doesn't really narrow things down all that much.

I don't really care though. It was a bad turnover, yeah, but outside of a select few players they've all been having their mental lapses.

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Everyone else of the top teams seems to have slowed down in 2015 too: Wisconsin have a loss and a tie and an unconvincing performance against Kato even leaving out the Minny game, Minny have a tie, Quinni have not broken through against ranked opposition, Harvard have losses to Dartmouth and Cornell, BU have lost to Vermont and came within 5 minutes of tying U Conn yesterday, UMD would rather forget the UND series...
The difficulty every year is that we evaluate teams based on how they perform against opponents, but all the while, those opponents are moving targets. Mankato is better in the second half, both because a couple seniors returned from injury, Rogan in particular, and all of those freshmen are getting a bit more familiar with the college game. Wisconsin went on the road and outshot the Mavericks by 40 in each game; to me, that demonstrates a good deal of control of the game. St. Lawrence outshot the Mavericks by 10 and added an EN goal in its two-goal win. Wisconsin isn't finishing right now, but that will be better by tournament time.

I wouldn't say Minnesota has slowed down in 2015. It's freshmen continue to get better, and that would make the Gophers deeper, if the team as a whole could stay healthy.

North Dakota is playing as well as anyone in the league right now, after underachieving, IMO, for much of the year.

My question of BC isn't whether the Eagles are a great team; obviously, they are. It is whether they are improving as quickly as the teams pursuing them. If yes, they will likely win it all. If not, it gets more interesting.

Sounds a lot like BC, honestly.

Wisconsin is way more dangerous than they've been playing.

Anyone know if the Beanpot is being streamed again this year?

I see it is on ESPN3 but that's not available here and I can't find any info re: internet access.

ESPN3 is internet.

Thanks, didn't know. We get several versions (tv) of TSN here and I thought it was the same for ESPN.
Not only are Harvard's games on ESPN3 (they have some kind of agreement with them) but all 4 games of the tournament will be on ESPN3. That's badass; I am certain that's never happened.

It is. There is ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPNews, but ESPN3 is the black sheep of the family.

Am I missing something as a neutral observer? Are you buddies kidding each other? If not, I think Teddie gets two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. TTT may only be right 90% of the time, but he's a super fan for women's hockey and BC. Show some respect. If it's all kidding, then shame on me for a terrible post. Otherwise, you go to the box for two minutes and feel shame .

I'm Grant haha Joe is joegrav. But yeah that's why. They have the talent but they are not in the right mindset right now. Someone needs to take boot to *** with them and soon.

show respect to a post like that? really? because he's a super fan and loves BC? once people cross the line they need to be called on it. as before when I got trashed for responding to the Keller post (steroids) this post is overboard. Take a boot to *** with them? that crosses the respect line to me. I'll happily take my 2 minutes.
I cant see a real BC fan typing that crap. it's more of a MN thing.

see you in 2 minutes.

Let it be known that I do not think someone should literally take a boot and make physical contact with said boot to anyone's ass or any other part of the body or with any other object.

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Another question about the Beanpot.

How are the matchups in the first round determined?

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Punxatawney Phil climbs out of the hole. If he sees his shadow, BC plays Northeastern. If he doesn't, BC plays Harvard.

As scientific as your explanation is it doesn't explain how it would be determined that BC plays BU.

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Ha -- it's always the same as the men, and it rotates every year. NU HU BU NU HU BU NU HU BU lather rinse repeat.

Yep. I don't know how they decided who played who the first time but they've rotated since. And home team is determined by a random drawing at the Beanpot media luncheon. Though it should be noted, the Beanpot media luncheon was canceled this year, so I don't know if they remembered to draw for who the home teams are. Hope they eremember before the games start and both teams show up in white :)
