At Least We Have the World Jrs. During Break

Re: At Least We Have the World Jrs. During Break

I'm generally pretty positive, but I have to agree with you here. Canada dominated the Czech game, but there were times that the Czech's looked incredibly skilled. These are going to be a couple of very difficult games.

Did not think Canada would do well this year because of goaltending issues but Wedgewood looked solid against the Czechs. In a short tournament such as this, anything can happen and while the U.S. certainly is in a hole right now, they may yet still win this thing!

Resting the goalie? Rubbish! Did Julien rest Thomas against the Canucks?

If the USA fails to advance or has a brutal draw in the elimination round, well, that result will rest squarely on Blais.

I wonder if this was a coach who got a little overconfiden in his own team, given Canada's result from a day earlier?

In a short tourney like this, you ride your horses...no ifs oe buts!

squarely on Blais huh? I would think if you want to win a few games in this tourney you better put the puck in the net more than once a night as well...

i like the kid- but forbort made a terrible decision on the goal he caused and was completely burned on the play. wonder what LA thinks of his development at north dakota. he has not looked impressive in the ncaas or world juniors and it will be two years waiting on a 15th overall pick. gotta figure LA yanks him after this year.

He is still developing. Everything I've heard from the Kings is that they are extremely pleased with Forbort's development at North Dakota. He was sick for most of the year last year, which had a lot to do with how he did last year at the World Juniors and during the middle of last season. He has been a top 3 d-man for the Sioux this season, and has great hands. His outlet pass to Zucker against Denmark was a thing of beauty...blue line to blue line, tape to take, and Zucker went in and scored. He has his lapses defensively, but nearly every U20 kid does. I could see the Kings pull him, but it wouldn't be for a lack of development. Forbort has progressed quite well in his 1.5 years at UND.

Your best goalie allows your team to steal a game...

Fact. Also, when a backup starts letting in soft goals it becomes a confidence problem for the whole team. Ride the horses into the ground, unless Jack is hurt put his butt in the game.

anybody have a link to watch today's game? I don't get NHL network.

Re: At Least We Have the World Jrs. During Break

Forbort checked from behind and was on the ice for awhile...he didn't go directly to the bench so hopefully he's okay.

Tynan scores on the ensuing 5 minute powerplay.

1-0 USA

Re: At Least We Have the World Jrs. During Break

USA had about a half dozen high quality chances on the rest of that powerplay, but were unable to cash in.

11:59 left in the 1st

1-0 USA

Americans are looking hungry and very good right now.

PRetty goal...loved the passing and the build up. Hopefully the Finland game was a fluke. This team looks good right now. Keep up the pressure.
