I do recall stating my intentions were to defend Hockey Canada but simply to correct your erroneous statement that enrollment in hockey by Canadians is at an all-time low...after stating my numbers were "crap" you then corrected yourself and stated that they will decline to an all-time low by about 200000 by 2020 and you based this on an article written by someone with dubious credentials.....if they (and you) are correct, that numbers in Hockey Canada must show a drop of 25000 per year....the numbers should be out sometime in the late spring early summer....we'll see how those "projections" hold up....
Here's the thing JDUBBS, I've been around long enough to know that Hockey Canada does not need me to defend it....back in 1980 I remember everyone saying that we (the U.S.) will surpass Canada in quantaty and quality by 2000....in 1990 it was by 2010....while the U.S. has made tremendous gains, I really can't see us overtaking Canada in the forseeable future. Hockey is just too engrained in the culture....many pundits stated a decade ago that minorities represent the only growth in the population of Canada and Caribbeans, East Indians and Chinese do not play hockey. Guess what, they do now, I believe 3 out of the top five picks taken in the last OHL draft were minorities....in short, talent from Canada is not going away anytime soon.
As for registration in the U.S., unless you can show statistics independent of USA Hockey, then your point is mere speculation and nothing more.
This was just a ploy for Dubbs to talk about my panties, for some reason.

Also a hot item with the East Indians right now is turbans with hockey logos on them or turban with a maple leaf......sounds funny but true. After the gold medal game in Vancouver lots of maple leaf turbans on the streets.

I'm still trying to pour bleach on my brain after the mental image of rwd in a thong.

Minnesota hockey has asked USA Hockey to lower their fees for coaching modules (among other things) and to not raise their fees for player registration. USA Hockey is meeting in Miami this week to discuss changes for this year. If they don't make the requested changes, Minnesota Hockey will pull their Mites and Squirts (60% of registered players)..
Not sure where you're getting this information and not to debate the validity of the information you're relaying but keep in mind this is a sensitive matter still under review with Minnesota and USA hockey. We were getting tweets a couple weeks ago asking for varification on this matter and this account, if it didn't take 2 weeks to be allowed to post I would have replied much sooner.
Going forward, please ask your source to consider the sensitivity of this issue.
