• The murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Donald Trump has exceeded the murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Joe Biden in every year from 2000 to 2020.
• Over this 21-year span, this Red State murder gap has steadily widened from a low of 9% more per capita red state murders in 2003 and 2004 to 44% more per capita red state murders in 2019, before settling back to 43% in 2020.
• Altogether, the per capita Red State murder rate was 23% higher than the Blue State murder rate when all 21 years were combined.
• If Blue State murder rates were as high as Red State murder rates, Biden-voting states would have suffered over 45,000 more murders between 2000 and 2020.
• Even when murders in the largest cities in red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.

As far as the police they use a lot of reasons to justify shooting people so getting rid of guns wouldn’t change that. I don’t worry about tyranny as much them increasing the use of harassment, intimidation, etc against people. I think the situation with them would be much worse than it is now.

That’s because you’re an idiot. If cops are harassing someone, the most destabilizing, least safe thing you could do is introduce a gun into that scenario. Cops shoot people for reaching for their wallets or the door handle. More civilian guns = more people killed by cops.

Cops are so violent because of guns. It's true that most cops are conservative, and thus cowards, but they have also been super keyed up by their pathetic paramilitary training to believe they are in a war zone against the public where if they don't act like a bad WWE drag act and slam their victims into the concrete, the perp will whip out one of the trillion guns legally floating around.

You holding a gun is never a deterrent, in any civil situation. With somebody unarmed, it is simply a risk for a bad decision and a tragedy. With somebody armed, it is a tard race to shoot first, thus provoking violence.

You want to change the culture? Lessen the violence of this society- like so that some dude can't shoot a girl in the back of the head because she's playing in his hard. Easy button- prevent that dude from getting a gun. That would have forced the guy to actually talk to the moving shadows he was so afraid of instead of just shooting. Imagine, talking instead of reacting. Oh, that you can't imagine, I'm sure.

And the combined Armed Forces can outshoot any pretend armed group you can imagine. There's not been a real check from an armed populous since Jefferson approved a standing army.

I honestly can't imagine the blood bath it would be if the people protesting turned into an armed riot. And that's what you think is actually checking the police.

If the cops did have to worry about an armed populous, they would have more time to just wander around the neighborhoods, making sure that minor problems between neighbors don't escalate or they can actually do more work preventing drunk driving or at least get out and get to know people as there's less possibility of getting gunned down by some nationalist.

When I was a kid in the mid-90s, we used to play night-time tag/hide and seek in our neighborhood. We work dark colors, sometimes hoodies and ski masks. Anything to blend into the dark to gain the advantage. The game was actually centered around the home of our county sheriff who had two sons around my age. 20-30 kids all running through back yards, hiding in bushes, whispering. Worse thing that happened to us was the kid who got stung by a bunch of bees or hornets when he hid behind a woodpile they had nested in and accidentally disturbed the hive. If I had children now. I would absolutely not allow them to play a game like that, even in broad daylight, because I absolutely do not trust anyone anymore.

I grew up in a neighborhood much the same as you. Aside from one neighbor, who at worst put up motion-sensor lights (which we then unscrewed the bulbs while playing our games), we never heard a peep from any of the other neighbors. Never did we fear for our safety, let alone the idea we might be shot for our games.

The idea of such a fate as being shot for playing games would’ve been so foreign to 13yo me, and now it comes as almost the logical conclusion.

I have heard that he bought the guns from a private seller that was registered with ATF. Heller would allow US (no change to 2nd Amendment) to close these loopholes that exist and at least prevent many of these sales to the psychos from happening.

The only conclusion one can draw as to why that does not happen is Republicans (and Drew and people like Drew) are enjoying the slaughter happening all over the United States.
