Americans-Canadians

Re: Americans-Canadians

Boston get's burned again on a too many men penalty in a game 7...the last one cost Don Cherry his job!

Freakin unbelievable that it came down to that again. I understand the importance of line match ups, but please help me here, how can this happen thirty or forty times in the playoffs so far. Ridiculous. I personally have a system, how about you 5-4. ;)

I got a system and I call it "The Cherry." Might have to change it to "The Julien."

It's getting so bad they might want to put a coach on the gate. ;)

Philly is doing a great job rubbing that silly Montreal victory song in their faces. Americans catch on fast. :D Great heckle action! :D Wonder what Montreal fans have in store for Thursday. Voodoo could take a stranglehold or are we going to see the old reverseroooooo...

Ya, Ole Ole Ole Ole...my arse! I called this one in 6 cause I expect at least a little pushback when they get back to Montreal. Whether that happens or not well...first the Habs will have to score a goal in the series...then we'll see.

VooDoo will and has, played a huge role in this series. You just can't do that crap without the hockey gods not watching in. It's an embarrassment to the game and to the country. What next are the Habs fans going to Boo the US National Anthem again? :( They will pay...maybe Flyers in 5 now!

Halak looked disinterested last night...They should come back with Price in game 3 and see if that makes a difference.

In Montreal, I guess people aren't answering their phones with the greeting "HALAK!" anymore. He looked like he was hammered. Falling down when backing in to the net, and then that third goal. Like I said, he looked a little unsteady on his feet. Amazing....

It's going to be confusing for the Hab fans when guys like Daniel Briere, Simon Gagne, and Claude Giroux are filling the net at the Bell Centre. Not to mention returning rear gaurd Ian Laperriere. What are they going to do when their native sons bury thier beloved Habitants. I know let's have a riot in the streets!

Having a French name does not alwasy mean they are are native Sons ...

Giroux is from Hearst, Northern Ontario.
Briere hails from the Ottawa area.

Re: Americans-Canadians

Both speak en francais...that's good enough for me...:)

I don't live in Quebec, and where I live the vast majority of the population is French speaking. If you can't speak French, you have trouble communicating with at least 25-35 percent of the local population, who are unilingual French. Giroux is from Hearst Ontario, way up north. There are a lot of French Speaking communities all over Canada, not just in Quebec. Northern New Brunswick, Acadia, Eastern Ontario, parts of Northern Ontario and some enclaves in Southern Manitoba are French speaking.

How are y'all gettin along there anyway. Does one side think they're better than the other, or are those days long gone. My cousin once got his face punched in for speaking English at the Quebec winter carnival. That was a while back, and I've always thought there was more to that story though.

In our neck of the woods it is all harmonious. There are always exceptions, but in general this is a very tolerant multicultural society. I'm from non-French European descent, and we are all fluently bilingual/multilingual at our household.

Re: Americans-Canadians

great country you got there. 'you no speekie frenchie..me punch you in nose.' good grief.

yeah really, because all Americans are so civilized and non-violent, it's all kumbaya all the time. No need for any weapons, prisons etc. then, huh? What a country! Who's that buried under the Meadowlands again?

We live in an area that is (or at least used to be  ) almost totally English. However, as we live in a bilingual country, and in an increasingly global economy, we ensured too that our children would be fluently bilingual in French and English, with solid instruction in two other languages as well. I'm betting NJC wouldn't ever dream of it.

Re: Americans-Canadians

A country without a language is not a country at all....

Stop kidding yourself with that multi-cultural, bi-lingual liberal B.S.
