On a lighter note, good luck to the DU women's soccer team tonight, as they begin their NCAA tournament play vs. Portland. We've fattened up on some Sun Belt cupcakes, now it's time to play the big girls. Portland will be a very tough game, but hey, maybe we'll get lucky and come out with a win.

Wouldn't each of us like to have a dollar every time we've seen a "routine" play in football where somebody comes up hurting badly? And only after repeated replays, from multiple angles, do we see the injury occurring.

Pablo, I went to the first day of the Denver Cup last year, and had to be at school the following Monday. The timing there was so tight, I was exhausted on the first day of school, and decided that it probably wasn't worth it. So this year, I'm not getting any games, which sucks, but I would love to call a meeting of the minds at Campus Lounge for some night while I'm home so I can buy a round for all of you.

The Pioneers' men's and women's basketball teams begin their respective seasons this evening with games in Magness Arena. The women play Wyoming in a 5:30 game followed by the men playing Northern Iowa after the conclusion of the first game.

I hope some local DU fans will be in attendance.

I have an idea...

Can we talk about the series against the biggest bunch of cheap shots in college hockey??? A week from tonight, Denver plays North Dakota. Why don't we talk about Chevy's possible return or how scared we are of Murray playing in that series!!!

Like I said, this whole injury and call deal is in the end "he said, she said" and really is a dead horse that has taken a huge beating.

Time to move on.

If the Pios were to pull out the upset of Portland - the #2 in the team country on their field (DU is about #66 out of 320), DU would be positioned for a serious tourney run, as confidence would be high and the oncomming opponents not as talented as Portland. That said, Portland smoked us 5-0 the last time we met in the tourney, and DU didn't dominate the Sun Belt as well as usual this year, so I think Portland is much more likely to take us to the woodshed then we are likely to bag an upset.

Depends on how Denver plays them this time. If they come out and just play for the counter attack with a focus on defending...they have a better shot. If Portland is allowed to get a flow going...they will put Denver to the sword.

MPSF Tournament: In the semifinals-#4 Denver takes on #2 New Mexico tonight at 7:30 at DU. Since there is no hockey game, you Denver based fans can cheer on the DU men's soccer team.

MSU - MI on FCS Pacific right now

UAA - WI on FCS Central 8 PM ET

UAA - UND on FCS Atlantic 8:30 PM ET

Ferris - Miami on NHL Network right now

Just went through the NHL Network US listings through mid December and the SCSU at DU game on Nov. 27th will be on the NHL Network. That game is also on FSN Rocky Mountain. Also the Dec. 11th Wisc at UND game will be on the NHL Network
