Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Coombe may be mascot-challenged, but has at least generated 1 NCAA hockey title under his watch (2005).

CC president Celeste is the one who is underperforming, as are all CC presidents since 1957.
Umm...Coombe took over in July 2005. DU won its last hockey title in April 2005.

Its just another reason to fire the jackazz.

That's true. Wow. I guess Coombe is struggling after all...

I did, he did not reply, nor edit the articles.

Wow.

So, he's supposed to edit his articles based on your personal perceptions of what happened??? Um, OK...

It's not my personal perceptions. I have it on my DVR. Do you? Did you watch the rest of the game? If you did, you know his statements are not true.

I know I came off high and mighty, and I apologize for that. But when I read those comments I really became irate. The refs screwed up, the league admitted it, and Kanes penalty is one that there is no legal remedy for. What I meant to say was that in regard to everyones questions about the status of #28, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

And you've been throwing the words "lie" and "liar" around like $5 tips in Vegas. That's unwarranted.

Some say measure college presidents by fund raising/capital campaigns, press and prestige, enrollment size, program strenghts, faculty schoalrship, research grants, endowment, US News rankings, and admissions selectivity. Bah.

As we all know, the only acceptable measure for a college president is how many NCAA Hockey titles have they overseen....

Ahhhhh, any post cirling back to a 1957 referrence is a joy to read.

All I hear is blah, blah, blah.

And just more blah....

The refs always have the option to hand out a 5 minute major if they feel that there was an intent to injure. It's a judgement call that every ref has the right to make and it can not be argued. I have a feeling that is what happened in this situation....the fact is that if a player is actually injured or not is moot -- it's the perceived intent.

You need to take a reading comprehension class. What I was upset about was the Denver Post writing incorrect information about the injury. I'd love to know where he got the information for his article, since he didn't come up here to watch the game, and there is no USCHO recap of the game. Where do journalists get info? I know the ADN journalist gets it directly from UAA.

As far as saying Mike Chambers article included a lie, it does. He published something that is not true or fact, which makes it a lie. As far as Gwoz is concerned, that is my personal belief ... he is sandbagging. Call if what you like.

Weird. I've only written to the guy once, but he did respond...from his Blackberry at the ski slopes. (I guess he's got plenty of free time, since he's not traveling to games.)

But...I copied his editor on the email! ;)

Save for future reference...

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

Mike writes on a variety of sports full time for the Denver Post, and his reporting credentials are well worthy of the more than 10 years he's been on the Pios beat.

When he reports something, it's because he's sourced it appropriately. That's not to say he's perfect, but he is a seasoned and diligent journalist who 99% of the time, gets the story right.

Re: All Things DU XXV - Murray Up and Get The Chevy Out of The Repair Shop

We miss you. How is medical school?

I miss you guys, too! :) Medical school is really fun and really stressful at the same time. Classes are tough and there is a ton of work that it's impossible to keep up with. We started learning how to do physical exams a couple of weeks ago, so, I'm having fun playing doctor until I start seeing real patients in January .

I will be around for the Denver Cup and I can't wait to see a game in person! I really miss going to DU games. :(

Do they teach you how to snap your rubber gloves?

Good gawd, try making a smidgen of sense before requiring anyone to comprehend your drivel. Sheesh.

I thought your initial beef was with the refs making the call in the first place?

Then it turned into Gwoz telling tall tales, to the Denver Post reinforcing these lies, to I'm not even sure what. Good grief...

LOL. We don't practice that portion of the physical exam until sometime later. We are currently practicing physical exams on each other, so, that would be a little uncomfortable... :) I'm guessing the more invasive portions of the exam will be practiced on real patients.
