Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

:( The CSWA upped the price of booze this year :( They also got rid of wrists bands and make you show ID every time :'(
It's crazy what a dollar can do.... I was willing to pay $7 for a beer two years ago (Which is upsurd when you think about it) than last year they upped it to $8 and that was enough for me to go from 2-3 beers a game to 2-3 beers for the entire season that I bought in the arena.

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

For next year do we know if the new conference is keeping the 28 game conference schedule? I think they should it would be nice to play every team 4 times. I always want to make sure we play the UNDies at home.

Speaking of the UNDies did anyone else notice that the ticket to that game is higher priced than the CC game. I found this interesting. I wonder if DU now thinks they are a bigger rival than CC or are they trying to cash in/help pay for additional security for all the UND fans coming to the game

There will be 24 conference games every year which means you wont get one opponent each year and wont go to one building each year. Haven't heard yet if there will be a "rival" you must play four times or not but I would imagine so. And obviously they would pair you guys w/ CC and the former CCHA teams, but I am curious how they will pair UND, SCSU, UND, and UNO

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

Two questions.
1. Does A-Rod sit tonight?
2. Are you close to the site of the latest Lindsay Lohan police report incident?

1. I doubt it, I am thing Grandy sits, Ibanez plays left and Ichiro to center

2. Yes, about 2 blocks away.

thanks for the info. I wonder why they are decreasing the conference games by 4. Are the teams just going to play 4 less games or are they going to have 4 more non-conference games?

My guess would be UMD/SCSU and UND/UNO.

Most likely, teams would have 4 more non-conference games. The teams also lose the Alaska-exemption, so that means unless they schedule non-conference series up in Alaska, they will likely only play 34 games instead of 36 games (most years) as they do now. Of course, there is the possibility of playing in other exempt games (read: HOF game, IceBreaker, etc.), to increase that.

Given that, teams will likely play 24 conference games and 10 non-conference games in a typical season.

The NCHC coaches felt that 28 games would be too much of a meat grinder. So they went with 24 games, but as a result its been very difficult to find opponents for the 10 games.

DU & CC will play Air Force twice. Also DU & CC have a four year deal with MN & WI.

Sample:
Year 1: Wisconsin visits DU [1] & CC [1]
Year 2: DU visits Minnesota [2], CC visits Wisconsin [2]
Year 3: Minnesota visits DU [1] & CC [1]
Year 4: DU visits Winconsin [2], CC visits Minnesota [2]

Very interesting, that makes sense. thanks
