Just caught the last part of Hockey Media Day. And if not before, I am now officially a Paul Phillips fan.

Looking sharp in a suit and tie, Phillips handled a "sticky question" from Jay Stickney. Something like, considering how badly you played as a freshman, did you ever think you would be team captain? The Captain replied, ever since I committed to DU I dreamed/hoped/could see myself wearing the "C". He felt honored to now be a part of the group of DU Captains. Mentioned his captains Rhett Rakhshani, Kyle Ostrow, Dusty Jackson and Drew Shore.

Another telling comment, We won't expect another line to do all the scoring so slack off or take it easy. We will work hard every game at Magness and on the road. (Hmm, seems like that was discussed on last year's threads.)

This boy's got grit. I like it!

I don't have a dog in this hunt. H*ll, I never have a dog in the hunt, I'm a Cubs fan. And while I certainly wouldn't want to rub salt in du78's wounds, I would root for a team of lagerkommandos over the Yankees.

I can't believe Chris Knowlton is a Senior. time does fly by.

The Seniors' career numbers are better than I would have expected.

Phillips 1 G & 16 A
Ostrow 15 G & 16 A
Knowton 17 G & 12 A

All three guys had far & away their best seasons as Juniors. If they can exceed those numbers as Seniors, DU will be in the hunt for an NCAA spot.
