Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Gwoz quoted by Chambers as saying Ucee and Adam may both see action during the series. Leaning towards starting Sam at home.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

I wonder if Loney pulled a urinal off the wall at the Border. It's been known to earn indefinite suspensions in the past. Or so I hear. :D

Back in the day we used to walk to class in blizzards with 2 feet of snow on the ground and it was all up hill:rolleyes:

I only remember school being closed once when we had over 30 inches of snow in one storm. From what I can tell the game is on tonight, nothing on the DU website about it being postponed.

Hopefully, ESPN has their equipment already in Denver for tomorrow's national hoops game.

Just classes, not something important like the game:D

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Does Zucker go back to Drew Shore or does he stay with Nick Shore and Knowlton? Nick's line was hotter last weekend*, but Gwoz seems to move Zucker to Drew's line in the 3rd period.

*except for the now coat and tie Ty

Don't know, I don't like breaking up lines when the chemistry is there.

Game On!!!

From DG's blog
Just received an email from DU S.I.D. Erich Bacher.

"The DU vs. CC hockey game will be played tonight."

Also the D.U.G.S BBQ is still on starting at 5:30, outdoor beer garden and students tents have been cancelled

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

I'm sure that you're right DG. I just don't get Gwoz's thinking (not the first time and certainly not the last) Adam is so darn inconsistent. Why not make him earn his spot back? One night in Alaska doesn't mean a thing in my mind. UC played two solid games against CC.
I agree. Although it was good to see Adam's solid performance at UAA, Jussi has earned at least a rotation with Brittain. If Adam plays the occasional game and continues to shine, Adam should get it back. But I don't understand why Jussi's great play has not earned him a spot to lose.

ugh...I guess that's why they pay Gwoz the big bucks.

Go DU, whoever is playing in goal! I would LOVE to see DU send CC back into the blizzard with their tails between their legs.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Just like to say if Mark and Jay had not gone off the air in the 3rd, I'm sure we would have won.

And the Mermis penalty looked more like a 2, not a 5. Bah Humbug!

No argument from this CC fan. No doubt that it was a penalty, but I would have been fine with a minor. Then again CC's PP is god awful right now and DU generated better chances on that major. Ughhh.

Hell of a game tonight. Both goaltenders were outstanding, and that was probably the best defensive game CC has played all season.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Kyle Ostrow called up to Rochester in the AHL on a PTO

http://www.chicagoexpresshockey.com/news/index.html?article_id=314

Saw Ostrow, Maiani and Mannino play for the Express in Chicago suburbs last week. Attendance was about 180...seriously. Here's hoping all three escape up to the AHL ASAP.

Someone needs to explain to me why the Mermis penalty was 5 mins tonight (we was robbed), as well as what idiot pulled Sam when CC controlled the puck.

Hit looked worse than it was. I knew when they went into pow-wow mode it was going to be 5. What can you do? It's water under the bridge. Agree with both of your other points about D/ Goalies were dialed in. Great to see Sam bring it. CC did an excellent job in the D zone. Won tons of puck battles, face-offs and closed shot lanes all night. Should be another battle tomorrow. Drive safe everyone!

We need Merrimack, Union and OSU to lose tomorrow in addition to us getting a W. Wish UAH had held on to beat the B. Bears tonight!

All sports, at all levels, are becoming more and more aware of any hit which has the potential for injury. The NCAA has come out strong in their stance on potentially dangerous hits and that obviously trickles on down to the various conferences (obviously WCHA in regards to us), which trickles on down to the leadership (McLeod, Sheperd, et al...), which leads to the refs erring on the side of caution and being more harsh in assessing these hits. Like it or not, agree or disagree but it is a big point of emphasis for all refs (on and off-ice) to watch for this...obviously the off-ice refs' assessment would only be needed if on-ice refs had an obscured view or something.

The players know this as well as anyone -- or they should.

Mermis needed to be smarter. Nothing grey about this, he f-u-cked up and took a stupid 5 minute penalty with 6 minutes to go in a one goal game. The refs, with how they are supposed to officiate, probably made the right call in my opinion.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Nice crowd at the basketball game and some shot of DUGS and the students during halftime.
