Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Denver moves up to #9 on the INCH poll.
Shout out to Ty Loney. 16 points in the season--12 in the last 7 games

DU moves to #13 in USCHO poll
Ty Loney has taken his game to a new level after getting a shot on the first line.

Interesting to look at Ty Loney's USHL stats. He was very solid last season.

2010-11 Youngstown Phantoms 54 games 23 goals 19 assists 42 pts +5

No Daniel Doremus on the trip this weekend. Wonder what that's all about? Probably zero points in the last 7 games he appeared in after getting off to a pretty good start.

When Bennett gets back several more guys will see their ice time cut back.

7 National TV games this Friday night, all times are eastern cause that is where I am. :D ;) I think this is probably the first time 7 national games have been on TV in one night. All 3 Colorado teams on national TV on Friday.

7:00 PM BU @ Merrimack - FCS Pacific
7:30 PM Miami @ Michigan - FS-D & FCS Atlantic
7:30 PM PC @ UNH - CBSSN
7:30 PM Cornell @ RPI - NBCSN (old Versus)
8:00 PM SCSU @ WI - BTN
9:30 PM CC @ DU - Root & FCS Pacific
10:00 PM RIT @ AF - CBSSN

Chambers has an article on red hot frosh Ty Loney

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Denver Post has not had a word about the hockey team's 2 victories. I know we were in Alaska, but surely there's an AP box score that would be available.

Don't feel bad.

UNO had last weekend off and you would never have known we even have a hockey team here, looking at the Omaha World Herald. Not a single score, notes, results or article, even, from anywhere else around the league in the Weird Herald about games that weekend.

SOP around here.

There is a reason printed newspapers days are numbered. Thing of the past by the end of this decade.

Goal Czar named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week. Joey Leggs was nominated for D-man of the Week and Ty Loney was nominated for Rookie of the Week.

Isles won last night 5-2 over the Canes and Rock took a regular shift with the 3rd line and played on the 2nd PP unit. While he didn't make the scoresheet, he had 2 shots on goal and 3 that just went wide. He played a total of 12:47. I heard Isles Coach Jack Capuano say this about Rhett before the game. He is looking for Rhett to provide secondary scoring, something the Isles have lacked this year. He likes Rhett's vision and creativity and hopes that will translate into additional goals they have been lacking. Capuano after the game says he is happy with the play of the call-ups, Kevin Poulin (24 saves) and Rhett Rakhshani (2 shots and 12:47 TOI). Light House Hockey had this to say about Rhett last night. "Rhett Rakhshani was active and impressive in his season debut (2 shots on goal, 3 additional attempts)." Hockey great and current Islanders' announcer Butch Goring gave high marks for Rhett during last night's broadcast. He liked the way Rhett was always in the position to do something especially positioning himself in front of the net. He also liked his passing ability.

Chris Peters names his Mid Season NCAA American-born All Americans. Jason Zucker at Left Wing and an Honorable Mention to Drew Shore. (Drat that Jack Connolly)

Re: WCHA weekly awards--Good to see the Goal Czar getting back in the groove! LaLeggia and Loney are deserving of recognition, but I must say MTU's Robinson shutting out UMD for 5+ periods was pretty hard to beat.

Re: NHL--Rakh gets a NHL game (and good reports), Butler gets a good shot on goal, Carle and Stastny get assists, and Bozak has a goal and an assist plus has one waived off that didn't set well with the Leafs. Even though only the Isles cane up with a win, not a bad night for the DU contingent.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Looking forward to some great hockey home and away in snowy CO this weekend. Anybody else struggling with the goal tending politics? I feel bad for UC. He seems to be getting pushed out. I get that Sam needs to build ice time but I still think it would be prudent to give UC some time. Any recent news on #10? I heard he was skating last week.
Let's get the dub Friday so that the Pan is ours when we go down to the toilet.

Its Sam & Adam the rest of the way.

UC is State Farm - An insurance policy if Sam gets hurt again or leaves early. Red-shirt UC next season and you have an experienced Sophomore when NCHC play begins.

I'd say Adam won Round 1 last weekend.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

I was wondering if Mike Chambers was going to post something about the DU-cc games, but Loney's suspension:eek: Not on my radar.

@#$%^&*()&#@#+_))(&^#!@%^()+_())&$@#&^&)(_()()&#^^&)_ :mad::mad::mad:

Per Chambers indefinite suspension could mean 1 game, let's hope so. Sam likely in net on Friday night, only playing 1 game this weekend.

I'm sure that you're right DG. I just don't get Gwoz's thinking (not the first time and certainly not the last) Adam is so darn inconsistent. Why not make him earn his spot back? One night in Alaska doesn't mean a thing in my mind. UC played two solid games against CC.
