Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Howdy Pio Faithful! Good to be back to action. I've been super busy at work and had no time for boards. What's the word on #10? I'm starting to think he may not make it back which could have a negative impact on our chances in the third season.

Aren't you sick of hockey speak's "upper body injury"? Larraza tweeted he had a "conky" Have to think Makowski's initial "severe headaches" are probably the same thing. And nobody knows how long recovery will take place. Yes, we will miss #10, but at least LaLeggia is an offensive threat and that hard hitting Big Yellow Truck, Ryder, is back.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Last night Jay commented that both Makowski and Larraza are probable for next weekend. Assume it must have come from Gwoz in the pre-game.

Sam Brittain with Jay in the 2nd-did a nice job. But would rather Sam would be on the ice doing his job.:)

Can I hear an Amen?

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Coincidental Roughing in the 3rd period--5'9", 160 lb. Nate Dewhurst vs 6'1'. 197 lb. Brad Gorham:eek:

Now, you're just a glimmering ray of hope...Aren't you, sunshine?

Any more nuggets of your "wisdom"?

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

As we wake up this morning, DU sits in 3rd in the WCHA, 14th in the PWR and Drew Shore leads the WCHA in scoring with Jay Z #3. DU's PP is #2 in the WCHA and their offense is #3. They have upped their defense to #5 in the league. Nationally Drew is #4 in scoring and Jay Z is #11, DU's offense is #3, PP is 7th and their D is up to #30. Bring on the kitty kats!!!!

Say more things like this.

Man I can't wait to get Bennett and Makowski back!!!

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

When you see the Pios play the way they did in the 1st period last night, the talent and potential are simply awesome. Then you see the 2nd period and it is OMG! They let the wolves back in the game by letting them play their game and DU lost its composure and fell into the trap. Brittain needed that start but still has to earn the "Great". The 3rd was better, but it was more of a shutdown play, not we'll show you.

>>Joey LaLeggia and Ty Loney are having great runs. Keep it up boys!
>The Goal Czar had a good weekend.
>Adam Murray played well Friday.
>Nick Shore scored 2 goals for the weekend, hopefully he now has the scoring touch.
>That Big Ryder Truck was back.
>Dusty Jackson was playing with more fire than I've seen in a long time.
>>Scott Mayfield and John Lee had presence.
>>Drew and Jason--Beast Mode

(Makowski probable against cc:) Bennett still in a cast--3 more weeks:()

In Lax news, DU trails Team USA 9-7 at the half in Orlando. Mark Matthews having a big game for DU. Game is live on ESPN3.com

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Team USA beats DU 16-15 in OT in a real strong game for the Pio's lax team.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Denver Post has not had a word about the hockey team's 2 victories. I know we were in Alaska, but surely there's an AP box score that would be available.

Seems a little hard to understand, given that they could have used Donald as a stringer, since he's not doing anything.

The Post is a horrible paper...plain and simple. If my wife didn't enjoy clipping coupons, we would not have a subscription any longer. To be honest, other than the coupons, the paper usually just gets tossed away.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Denver moves up to #9 on the INCH poll.
Shout out to Ty Loney. 16 points in the season--12 in the last 7 games

DU moves to #13 in USCHO poll

Per NY Islanders tweet Rhett Rakhshani called up by Isles. Practicing on a line with Josh Bailey and Matt Martin.
