Re: All Things Denver XXXI

DU is #31 in RPI, so if the team needs additional motivation to wants to know if they would make the NCAA Tourney if the season ended today. The answer is "NO."

http://siouxsports.com/hockey/rankings/rpi/

Well, the tournament if the season ended today would be...

#1 Merrimack vs. #14 Connecticut
#8 Boston College vs. #11 Michigan

#2 Dartmouth vs. #13 Michigan Tech
#7 Western Michigan vs. #10 Quinnipiac

#3 Minnesota vs. #16 Northern Michigan
#6 Notre Dame vs. #9 Brown

#4 Colorado College vs. #15 Ferris State
#5 LSSU vs. #12 Ohio State

That's right, SEVEN CCHA teams would be in the NCAA Tournament.

It's a good thing the season doesn't end after October :p:D:D

Re: All Things Denver XXXI

No need to worry yet.

Even when DU was getting throttled 7-1 you could still see a clear talent edge. And there are lots of potential moves Gwozdecky can make to shake things up.

.
Hahaha, you sure about this one?

Sure. Beau Bennett will play next week. That will solidify the top two lines.

Its always amazing to me how losing one key player just kills all the lines in the college game.

Re: All Things Denver XXXI

Apparently..... the first Presidential Candidate's debate of the 2012 election is to be held on campus at DU's Magness Arena on October 3rd ..if they can shift the boston college game..

Its a Wed. night next year, so doubtful there is a conflict.

Supposedly DU is paying a $1.3 million fee to host the event.

OK, what happened to Bennett and what's the latest on Murray?

DU injury update from Mike Chambers at Denver Post

University of Denver sophomore Beau Bennett practiced Monday and could return to the lineup when the Pioneers host defending NCAA champion Minnesota-Duluth for a two-game series this weekend.
"Beau did skate and participate in some of the drills, and he's moving real well," DU coach George Gwozdecky said.

Gwozdecky said DU goalie Adam Murray, who was pulled early in last Friday's game because of an upper-body injury, did not practice Monday and is questionable for this weekend.

Peter Mannino dressed as the back-up for the Jets last night in Florida.

Re: All Things Denver XXXI

Your tuition dollars at work! :D
The $1.3 million will be raised from donations. No tuition dollars will be used.

DU hockey will lose some home games and had to juggle some non-conference contracts in order to free up Magness for 10-11 days.

I hope they will be able to practice in Joy Burns.

FWIW, Adam Murray is doing the promos for this weekend's series against UMD.

Does this mean he's not dressing for the game?

Please to explain!!!
They have a different player each week doing the promo spot. Nothing to read into that.
Today is basketball media day so no Gwoz on the press conference. His radio show is on tonight at 5:45 MT on PioneerVision. Make that 6:15. CU football comes first:eek:

Just so 2 political blowhards can argue with each other and say how they'll help us...as if they actually will.

Republican/Democrat....neither of them really give a **** about us. Its all about power and more money...

I'd at least like one of em to buy me dinner...I like to have a nice dinner before I get *******ED! :D

There's that. And the loss of revenue from those lost home games. And the loss of home advantage, too. What if the games we lose are against UND or CC or God forbid MTU and we have to go back up there again? Would the "national exposure" be worth it then?
