Re: All Things Denver XXXI

Just kind of curious as to how you guys feel about...

A) The WCHA not assigning any refs for this weekend for either DU or CC (all four were technically a linesman, just that 2 of them wore orange armbands so they could act like refs :o) - Are they testing out new guys to take the place of the older referees who are close to retirement? Figured exhibition games were a good testing ground

B) How do you think they did? - Was not at game

C) Any guesses as to why two of the "scoundrels" got shafted on actual refs for the weekend? (does it really matter? :) Doesn't Matter. :D

:)

No, I think nepotism would be if she was the student manager on her dad's team. This is just....networking. :)

Any of you planning to head east for the games this weekend? Too bad they weren't scheduled for this weekend. The weather is gorgeous. Long term forecast calls for rain on Friday. :(

I am trying so hard to get a bunch of guys to come down, everybody is so **** busy!!! I might have to go it alone and meet up with my DU brethren and Barbara!!!

A few people are flying in. Boone, the student mascot, will be there as well.

The DU alumni event on Friday has 40-60 RSVP's already.

At least three regular posters including myself will be there.

Re: All Things Denver XXXI

Chevy sent to Gwinnett in the ECHL from Portland in the AHL by Phoenix.

Re: All Things Denver XXXI

Geez, is this due to performance, or over-abundance of goalies in the system?
Was wondering the same thing.
But both of the goalies remaining at Portland have NHL as well as AHL experience. Pogge and the other one:confused::o

For DU fans in the Boston area Mookie1995 has 2 tickets for Saturday's game. See him on DU Battles Boston thread

Re: All Things Denver XXXI

Any new word on Brittain's status? And while he's out and once the Finn comes back, what % of games do you guys expect he'll get behind Murray?

I can't answer your questions, but this is the topic that is freaking me out!!! I don't see how we are going to survive this weekend. Is Murray even 100%?, what about this poor 3rd stringer?, if he has to face either of these 2 teams he's gonna get lit up like a Christmas tree!! Ahhhhh!! Why do these injuries have to plague us every year??

I am officially freaked out!!!:eek::eek:

Brittain is on target to play in mid-January. Murray is the starter and will play most of the games. The Finn has shown he has the tools to fill in for Murray on occasion. He is more than your typical walk-on 3rd string goalie. BTW for those who think that the Finn not playing this coming weekend is new news, it is not. Gwoz mentioned it several weeks ago when talking to the faculty at a luncheon. Hope, the current 3rd string goalie is more of your typical 3rd string walk-on. Per Gwoz yesterday, Murray is scheduled to play both games this weekend and that he should be fine by the weekend.

Here is from an impeccable source  :) that I received last evening:
After an outstanding rookie season, sophomore goaltender Sam Brittain underwent knee surgery in late June. Sam’s knee rehabilitation is going well and he’s on schedule to return sometime mid-January. Until then junior Adam Murray will be called upon to be our number one goaltender. Adam is excited and ready for this opportunity.

Good news: You know that squashed looking thing that was on the wall behind the players during interviews?

It Is Gone

The thing was replaced by the interlocking DU. So much better.
Now there's just the squashed thing on the carpet in the locker room. Wonder if its still there?

If so, it would be a good project for some of the 50/50 Raffle funds.

Good idea. Until then we could take Vizeroo's suggestion and buy a blanket with bunnies and chicks on it to cover up the doughnut.

I hope the ice machine is all ready for Friday night. We can't have any technical difficulties in cooling down the Crown Royal. :D ;)
