Wasn't DU going on a PP when Gwoz used the TO? I'm pretty sure that DShore, Zucker and Salazar were on the ice for a decently long shift when the penalty occurred and Gwoz just wanted to give them some rest before the PP...

Captain Kyle Ostrow will begin light skating Friday, but not make the trip to Omaha. (per Gwoz's radio show)

Jackson, Nutini and ??? need to demonstrate major league leadership this weekend.

Quick trivia question for the DU fans. Who are the two most accurate shooters on the team this season counting all games? One leads the team at 29.2% with second one scoring at a 25% clip. I am heading home now and will catch up with all of you later.

He is known as the Goal Czar for a reason. :D Not bad shooting just under 30%. It is also great to see Drew Shore becoming so accurate this year after he struggled in his frosh campaign at making his shots count.

Yeah, Drew's progress has been remarkable in this area. A lot of his shots his freshman year were scattered, hasty and haphazard. Now, the man shoots with a purpose. The other team's goalies now cower and quote Devo: "Don't Shoot! (I'm a Man)".

Was really glad to see him (Salazar) score last weekend as had been a bit of a slump. It's the right time for the Goal Czar to reappear.!
And Drew has been consistent all year--his work in the off season has really paid off. Having Zucker and the Czar on his line certainly hasn't hurt.;):cool:

His shot is one heck of a lot harder this year. He must have really worked on it in the offseason.

Big Questions for the Pioneers:

1) Can the defense settle down and stop coughing up turnovers?

2) What goalie will show up? Hadrian's Wall Sam or Softie Sam? Adam Big Alaska or Adam Ant?

3) Who will lead this team with Kyle Ostrow and Jesse Martin out?

4) Can they win games without giving up the first goal?

5) Can the power play supply power or just play?

Alumni update - Matt Carle got the second assist on the game winning goal in the Flyers 4-3 OT win last night over the Isles. He made a beautiful play and pass to start the scoring sequence.

Tyler Bozak had 2 goals and an assist in the Leafs 5-4 win over the Habs last night. His second goal was the game winner.

Paul Stastny taking some heat for negative comments his dad made about the Avs trade with St. Louis last week.

Bump!! See you guys tonight on the scoring thread. I just finished walking the campus with my 9 and 12 year old girls. Things look great and my youngest is now wearing an oversized DU sweatshirt and a DU hat, she looks way cool! I'm pretty nervous about tonight, I wish we had Ostrow back....

We seem to have 3 800 lb. gorillas in the room. One's name is crap defense, another is named crap goaltending and the third's name is crap power play. 2400 lbs. of gorillas equals a very disappointing end to the season. Put a fork in this team, for they are DUn. :mad:
