When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.....Let it be, he's on a roll........

DU is very tough at home. The last time they were swept at Magness was on March 9/10, 2007 in the WCHA playoffs by Wisconsin. I see at least a split by DU.

I agree, this isn't going to be easy for BC.

:eek:I will spare you all a reprise of my windy posts on the '68-'69 team. Let's just say if '60-'61 is the gold standard, these guys were just a small notch away from that level. Big, fast, powerful, they'd check you getting out of the bus. A richly deserved honor. But tell me, who are all those old guys in the team photo?

Tyler Bozak with 2 assists in Leafs 4-3 OT win over Rangers including the game winning goal.

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

Tonight will be a character test for the boys. Come back and skate hard.

You know if could erase the 2nd period, the score would have been 2-1.

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

Not that I wanted to see last night's fiasco, but I upgraded my Direct TV to see the game and I couldn't find it listed. DU78 posted about a week ago the games being broadcast and it said Oct. 15th. I also couldn't get on this site either last night, I was not meant to see this game I guess. It should be channel 683, right? Help!!!!

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

Some Alumni updates- Tyler Ruegsegger with Greenville of ECHL. Andrew Thomas at Trenton of ECHL.

Yessir, FSN - Rocky Mountain indeed is channel 683 on DirecTV. I watched the game and the picture quality sucked way more than usual given the crappy arena lighting. Couldn't see the puck and the DU players in white sweaters just faded into the ice. Nice "white-out" camera work.

I was very impressed with BC last night. One of the most positionally sound teams I've seen in college hockey. I though Murray was pretty solid in net for most of the evening. I believe the 4th goal he'd probably like to have back though. I hope DU plays with a little more passion and determination tonight and focuses a bit more on defense.

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

:(:( Ok, it's true. The better team won.:(
DU's PP sucked.
The team played better Saturday.
Mark Rycroft is a really good analyst.
Shore is the man on faceoffs.
I like Makowski.

But is it possible the team plays better in front of Brittain? Or is he better than Murray?

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

Thoughts on the weekend:

1) This BC team we played was just awesome. They are like a machine of consistency. They were better than Denver in every area. DU hasn't been swept at home by a non-conference opponent since 1991.

2) DU played their hearts out last night and I really thought the effort level was great, but is a young DU team that lacks scoring punch. DU had tons of PP chances, but really could not cash in, and that was the difference. Can't blame DU goaltenders this weekend - BC made great shots.

3) Sellout crowds were great and it's too bad DU gave them few moments of celebration. Student turnout was tremendous.

4) The DU band had 50+ players last night (about double the size from last year), and really made a HUGE difference in volume and sound quality. Never seen it so big. One fan turned to me during a stirring rendition of the national anthem and said "That brought a tear to my eye". The fight song sounded amazing too with that many players. Let's hope DU can keep that up - as it brings a real collegiate feel to the arena. Good to see DU listening to suggestions.

5) Being on campus for much of the homecoming yesterday was just great. Perfect weather, lots of sporting events going on, lots of pre-game action and campus looked idyllic. Perhaps next year, we should schedule an opponent for homecoming that isn't a top ranked, defending national champion with most of it's team intact...

Re: All Things Denver, XXVIII

I suspect, knowing DU, that they will continue to improve throughout the season and will most likely be a very different team by Feb/March. It is unbelievable to me how much DU lost after last season, and how much talent they still have.

Watching Friday's game looked just like what BC did last year, taking good teams and just completely outclassing them. BC is deadly, and I believe they are, and will continue to be, heads and shoulders above the rest of the nation. They seem to be clicking already, and given the history of Jerry York's teams, they will only get better and better.

All I can say is that I'm glad CC doesn't play them this year, because I would expect a very similar result to what happened this weekend. Although, that said, given their ridiculous speed, I would LOVE to watch BC play a weekend on the big ice. Too bad UNH is the only HEA team who plays on that surface.

Rycroft was singing the DU fight song on the internet last night during one of the the commercial breaks. Great stuff!
