Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Toilet Paper!!!???? Get real...we used the Sears Catalog when I was growing up. :p:D:D

As a kid I actually had some experience with that at grandma's. She had indoor plumbing, of course, but a city kid just had to use the old outdoor crapper. Not exactly Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side, but you get the idea.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Let's hope he's up to the standard Jussi set last night. He'll need it.

From DU Game Notes: Josiah Didier (injury), Zac Larraza (flu), Jarrod Mermis (coach's decision) and Larkin Jacobson (team suspension) are listed as inactive for Saturday's game at North Dakota.

That's unchanged from last night, right? But you also reported 4 forwards were hurt last night, too. Man, this shiza seems to happen every year against ND. I have that image of JZ last year, after he fell on his elbow, essentially unable to grip the stick and missing a couple of sure fire opportunities.

DU also better figure a way to drop a net over Grimaldi. That kid was everywhere--at full speed.

I have very litte optimism for tonight. Although there's always hope.

Wonder if FS23 still thinks DU's the second best team in the country? That guy certainly knows his chit...

Well, things change as the season goes on, a concept that I guess you don't get. But happy holidays to you anyway, Winthorpe, errr, Carlton.

Don't quote that tool. Ignore her. Miss Barrett does fail to realize that things change as the season goes on. Also, I will say that I think DU was the 2nd best team that North Dakota has played this season (behind Notre Dame)...and that was with only 10 forwards that made the trip.

Looking forward to the series down in Denver in February. I'll be there, so if anyone wants to say hello and talk some hockey, I'll be more than happy to.

Also, I'm going to try to make it to Denver's series before New Years, so if you want to talk then, let me know.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

The only thing that's changed for DU is that unlike their first 12 or so games, they've now started playing some good teams.

Just be a man and admit that you were completely wrong and were unable to base your opinion on anything other than a very misleading record. Unlike you, I knew DU's ranking was way too high. You're the one that went off the deep when I brought it up.

p.s. NoDak doesn't look much better

Do you want a cookie? Wow.

Fun series. Still surprised that Gwoz scratched the Finn after a stellar Friday game in net. Already looking forward to when these teams meet again.

Why do I have the feeling that carltonbarrett finishes her morning self-help talk, into the mirror, with "...and doggone it, people like me!"?

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

The bad news--we lost Saturday's game, the short bench has already haunted us.

The Good News--Grant Arnold got his first goal, 2 quick power play goals, Jussi was simply spectacular on Friday.
Despite being short handed and banged up, never saw any quit on the ice.

There's black and there's white. There's in and there's out. There's Puck Swami, and there's you.

I like this Denver team. Friday night was the best college game I've watched this year.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

With Christmas festivities and all, I didn't get to keep up with the game last night. 6-3 sounds pretty painful, but was it closer than the score indicated (empty netters at the end, etc)?

We are in a SLUMP, but one good thing about starting 9-1, is that it gives you room to have a slump or two without derailing your season.

Hoping we get back on track, and glad that Jussi was able to at least steal us a point this weekend. The other positive thing, is that DU scored 1st in both games. That's all I got.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Winless in the last 6 games, oh God!!! Well it was fun while it lasted!!!

Sioux played the entire second half of the year last season with a short bench and never complained about. Of course they were winning so there was no need to.:D
