Don't panic yet.
Agreed. I wish I had some scotch handy.
On a totally unrleated note, does anyone else hate the new denverpioneers.com design? I think that the floating header is way too big, so that there is hardly any content above the fold. A problem which is only exacerbated by the presence of a floating footer. (I know I know, if that's my biggest problem...) (meh... I just noticed that you can make the footer go away.)
Should be news soon.
DU's George Gwozdecky: "One idiot tweets a false statement or sheer speculation and before you know it the tweet acts like a tone of fact ..
..rather than speculation." Gwoz said QShore told him before practice "there is nothing to" the Portland rumor. QShore isn't going anywhere
Coach Gwoz also said freshman D Nolan Zajac is back from hand injury and Pios have 18 healthy skaters plus four goalies
Quentin Shore @QShore27
Although I appreciate the inquiry, I am excited to be with the pioneers and getting ready for North Dakota this weekend, hear arena is sick!
From Q himself on Twitter
Sounds like the typical inquiry that the CHL teams make all the time to gauge a player's interest. Put this one to bed.
Very user unfriendly. I go there every day and totally hate the new design. Tough to read articles and switch from one place to another. If most articles were not sent to my regular email, I'd be totally frustrated. It even makes purchasing of clothing tough. They will realize this when Holiday sales suffer.
So glad I'm not alone. That floating header is W-A-Y too big. And it jumps up/down so quickly.
And So Glad, Q Shore is staying in Denver!
I'll drink to "The Q" staying. And I'm glad to hear others of us b*tching about the DU website. I'm so insecure about my computer abilities, I always attribute any problems I'm having to my own ineptitude. Reassuring that for once it isn't me.
Is anyone else a little miffed about this Q story? What the heck? It's just now December, he gets plenty of playing time, he has had two brothers play for DU and another one on the way. His parents met at a DU game, they grew up watching DU and dreamed of playing here. He's only a Freshman, what gives?

These kids have a lot of pressure on them and have high expectations of themselves. When they don't feel they are reaching their goals (their goals and not anyone else's), they look for another way to reach that goal. I cannot tell you if this is the case with Q. The Canadian junior leagues always draft high end kids, even if they know they may not get them, in the hopes that they can convince them at some point to join them. They will constantly contact the kid, his family or advisor to gauge if the player has any interest in joining them. One example of player at DU who was constantly asked to jump to the WHL was Joe Colborne. If they sense a player may want to join them, they strike like a shark. DU has been fairly lucky in that during the season only Matt Pettinger and William Wrenn have left for the WHL during Gwoz's tenure. Wrenn's was a case where he wasn't getting much ice time and Pettinger was convinced that it would improve his draft status while playing for Canada in the WJC.
TJ Fast left as well. DU has also lost a couple of commitments in Ty Morris (around 10 years ago or so) and recently Connor Honey.
