Denver announced Wednesday that Randy Press has been named associate director of media relations and will be responsible for coordinating all DU hockey media relations. Prior to arriving in Denver, Press was the assistant commissioner/director of strategic communications for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Tough one tonight. Nothing like spotting your opponent a couple of goals right off the bat. After that, we seemed to get a little more on track.
Wisconsin was wallpapering the goal crease with bodies tonight. Time after time tonight I thought it was going in & nothing.
Been a bad couple of weekends. Hope the team can head into North Dakota with a positive attitude.

Couple weeks ago I brought up the possibility that "perhaps" DU was a bit overrated due to the fact that they hadn't beaten anyone and had a home heavy early schedule. Most DU fans (and non-DU fans for that matter) disagreed and felt that they were in fact the legit second best team in the land. Since then, 4 more home games where you went 0-3-1 and a PWR that has gone from #2 to #10. Next week you have 2 on the road at NoDak so things aren't getting any easier. So I will ask you AGAIN, is this DU team the real deal, the FF lock that you were all so high on, or just maybe were they not quite as good as that early 9-1 record would make you believe?

I remember it quite differently. I remember you saying DU was overrated (although you made a very lame attempt at making it look like a "suggestion") and I remember us pointing out that it was stupid. I don't remember anyone, not one single DU fan, asserting that DU was the clear 2nd best team in the country. What I do remember is that I said, and several other people said similar things, that polls are stupid, and the Pairwise is meaningless this early in the season.
And I assure you that not ONE person anywhere called this team a Frozen Four lock (I think only a BC fan could be that arrogant). In fact, I know that I am not the only one on here that posted concerns about a) the shortcomings the team was already showing when they were 9-1 and b) whether they could maintain that pace. The reason we didn't address those concerns to you is because a) no one cares about a BC fan chirping when we're getting ready to play UNH and Yale and b) you made it immediately clear that you're an a-hole, so why should anyone care about you at all. Perhaps, before you try to look like a wise and savvy hockey fan, you should first practice your elementary reading comprehension. What do you say?

You and I (and everyone else) know that if DU had managed to win a few of these extremely close games, carltonbarrett would never have come in and posted that he/she was wrong. Maybe DU is your favorite WCHA team, I don't know, but you obviously don't make a practice of reading our thread, or else you would have known that people had reservations. I doubt that anyone will engage you on this topic at all, because it was obvious from the beginning that you were not interested in an honest discussion about hockey. You wanted to flame. You did. Turning away from people and things that are pointless:
CO14ers and I were talking at the game about how, in many ways, the team that we have seen the last two weeks is pretty much what most of us expected coming into the season. The problem is that now, it's not acceptable because these guys have shown that they can be much better. The defense has struck me as cause for concern all season, which his why I was never quite on board with the discussion of this team in reference to great Pio teams of the past. Relying on scoring and goaltending is well and good when you're getting 4.5 goals per game, and you goalies are playing lights-out, but when they are only playing well and not great, the offense isn't scoring, and the power play seems to be giving up more goals than it is scoring, this defense is a problem. I had been worried that being light on forwards on the roster was going to be a problem over the course of the season, but now it looks like it might be something else.
I hate being all doom and gloom (which is why I stayed away from USCHO after the game last night) but the way the team looks right now, I think that getting to the Final Five would qualify this as a good season.
Someone who knows the game better than me, quick, say something that went well this weekend.

You could have read back a couple of pages, and you would have seen that most posters had reservations about whether the pace was sustainable. But yeah, I am the one who might be too lazy.
2) When you want an honest answer, only an arse actually uses the word "overrated." If you had stopped at asking whether they were a title contender, it would have been quite different. As soon as you brought up the word "overrated," you made it clear that the post was not asking for discussion, but rather flaming.
3) While it could have been possible that I misinterpreted this original post (although I very much doubt it) your subsequent bastardry on the subject pretty much proved that I was right that this post was a flame, not a question.
(And for the record, there are plenty of people on this board who will attest to the fact that yes, I can be an incredible *******, so you're not thinking anything new right now.)
