Add to that, somebody on threads rightly pointed out that the announcement was made at a time to deprive the news departments who’ve been attacking Biden relentlessly of their Sunday pontificators having a crack at Harris during their morning shows. Beautiful timing by a grizzled political veteran.

I love that people are saying this was a coup or that Pelosi forced him out. Absolute nonsense. The way this came together and was executed was masterful.
whether they had the endorsements of all corners of the party laid out ahead of time without a leak OR they organized and made phone calls to the right people at the right time immediately after the announcement securing every single one of their endorsements.
He outmaneuvered Pelosi, the centrists, the pundits, and the donors. All of whom wanted an open convention.

Help me understand what appears to be a 180 degree change for you. Even 48 hours ago didn't you believe Biden stepping down was a terrible idea, and that is was being considered only to appease a misguided and misinformed donor class, and would basically be handing the election to trump? If I'm wrong I clearly missed something.
In fact it looks like a number of posters seem to feel Biden deciding not to run is the right thing, whereas days ago it seemed like very few here thought that Biden stepping aside was going to happen, or even should happen. What changed so many minds?
