2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

https://www.salon.com/2024/11/08/americas-political-discordance-the-want-progressivism/

The problem wasn't Democratic policy or messaging. It's ignorance. As Heather "Digby" Parton wrote at Salon Wednesday, people backed Trump's "aesthetics and attitudes" but knew nothing about his policies. Before the election, Catherine Rampell and Youyou Zhou at the Washington Post polled voters about policies without revealing which candidate proposed them. Harris' were far more popular — even Trump voters generally liked her ideas more, as long as they knew they weren't hers.

Yup. Has nothing to do with being smart. Democrats have a lot of work to do.

Or with their "messaging"

It has everything to do with ignorant voters not knowing what they're voting for. Or willing to believe whatever Donnie and the Repubs tell them.

Remember Project 2025? The thing Donnie said he had no idea what it was before the election? Anyone who knew anything knew he was lying. His cult followers knew he was lying, but that didn't bother them, cause they were all in favor of it.

But the average, ignorant voter out there. If they had even heard of it, Donnie's disavowal of it was good enough for them. Just more fear mongering from the Democrats, pay no attention.

Now Donnie's allies and people in the campaign say Project 2025 is full speed ahead.

Good question. I don't know. Just like I don't know why anyone would vote for a criminal. They don't like age yet he is the oldest President elect ever. No rule that applies to the Democrats applies to the Republicans.

Just like no one wants to hear the petulant child tantrum anymore, it’s always the left who has to concede

Yea, I know that there are some absolutely $h*tty who absolutely fit the stereotype of "Racist White Trash". But there are also 20-30% of people that could go the other way if the case is presented correctly. I'm not saying that you're going to convert the masses from a county in Central Alabama. But you absolutely can convert people in the Rust Belt who decided this election. Read below in my reply to Uno.

The left needs to reach out because those are the votes that won/lost this election. It's the left that needs to pad their numbers moving forward. Where are those new votes gonna come from? I would be willing to bet that many of the under 30 males that voted for Dump this past Tuesday probably have interests in some things "country".

Moving forward, if the D's aren't going to court these kinds of people, they truly need to go all in and make sure that they get every single vote from a major metro area. The Electoral College stacks the deck against them enough as it is. They desperately need to make inroads in "small city" America. Places like Green Bay & LaCrosse, WI, Grand Rapids, MI, Whatever serves as the cultural hub for all the area between Philly and Pittsburg in PA. Cause that's where you have the brackish waters that have people that straddle the line here.

But here's the thing. Trump isn't going to hurt me. He's going to hurt minorities and his own voters the most. And women. And given that he made inroads in minorities and white women supported him 54-46, why should I care if they out vote the Dems in the near term? They're only hurting themselves.

I voted against my own financial interests because of social issues. If the people harmed by the social issues don't care enough to go along, then

Oh shiit, you are like a modern day Mother Theresa. Holy Fukcing Shiit!

It’s like Covid all over again, you get to wish for everyone to die again!

Enjoy shiit head!

Iâ??m getting a sense that the electorate is just interested in punishing the incumbent party. 81M Americans came out to vote against Trump because they were ****ed about Covid (even though by any sane expectation, Democrats in powers would have imposed even more restrictions). This time, people were ****ed about inflation and American support of the genocide in Gaza - again, even though all reasonable expectations would predict that Trump will be *far* worse on both of those issues than Biden has been.

The electorate only looks backward, not forward.

Non-incumbents of the same party have won the White House like twice in 100+ years. Five times since reconstruction and two of those were immediately after the civil war.

and worldwide, incumbents left and right have had their worst year in like 100+ years. So yeah, people HATE inflation. Even if wages have mostly kept up.

the Dems were actually fared among the best worldwide.

No lives were lost? So that woman in Texas didn’t die because doctors had to wait so long to confirm she had a miscarriage before they’d provide her care?

Timothy A is a grade A piece of shit. Block him. He's vile.

please don't quote him and he'll go back to hiding under the bridge.

I agree. Their messaging was fine. Just came from the wrong messengers. Dx’s graph showing we fared among the best in the world is cold comfort when the GOP has a trifecta and the Supreme Court. Guess we’ll join the rest of the modern world’s inflation without the safety net.

None. Trump is for exceptions.

1.5% of abortions are due to rape and incest. I think there are plenty of ways to avoid getting pregnant if you don't want to get pregnant, so in reality abortion is about people being sexually careless and trying to clean up a mess they created.

Or...you know...health care for ectopic pregnancy you fucking idiot. You would learn a lot talking to the UW leadership (both legal and medical) who had worries about prison time after Roe fell.

Pretty incredible watching Trump smoke Biden and then Harris all in one election cycle. Essentially winning two elections.

Nice work by the way, the dumb sh*it Dems ran a little Coup d'?tat inserting Harris because they had to save democracy and stop Hitler lmfao. Harris who was so disliked by Dems in 2019 that she didn’t earn a single primary vote, Harris who was the lowest polled VP of all time. Fukcing retardds.

You shi*t clown Statists live for this nonsense. Enjoy your absolute ass beating you were just served.

Dumb Fukcs
