2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Apparently if you go by the Fox News polling internals, to get their projected topline the electorate would have to be 95% white.

Does someone need to stop by the Supreme Court and make sure they didn't reinterpret the 13th on the grounds of original Constitutional intent? /rolleyes

Worth diving into (Marquette, for Wisconsin).

Fun numbers:

Gender gap:

18-29: 37
30-44: 18
45-59: 50!
60+: 11

Women:

Urban: Harris +46
Suburban: +18
Large town: Dump +5
Rural: Dump +24

Dump is ahead with rural women slightly more than rural men. They like the rapey vibe.

Non-college men: Dump +20
Non-college women and college men: even
College women: Harris +36

BTW, voting yesterday didn't end the "we know you voted in 20xx" messages.

The day I voted, I received a text that said, paraphrasing here: An eligible voter in your home may not have yet voted this year….(link). A few hours later, my wife received the same message.

We had both voted at the same time on Columbus Day. In MN, state law allows that, for $45, you can get a list of people who have voted that year. It’s still creepy as all hell.

If you look, I believe the ratio of women to men starts to become pretty stark once they hit that 45 range so that is doubly bad for Trumpy.

Not sure I buy that in reality college men is even.

There are a lot of "colleges" out there. If you include Phoenix and Liberty and Dartmouth and Strayer and Haircuttery Polytechnic and a thousand other degree mills you get derps with "college."

True but that still seems fishy. I would like to see the crosstabs. (not really just saying)

You often hear the University of North Dakota referred to as an "institution of higher learning." Not sure where that fits in this discussion.

When it's all said and done, I think Harris is going to win all 7 swing states. Trump has become so unglued in the last month, even by his rock bottom standards.

I'm not overconfident, I am just calling it as I see it. Kamala isn't Hillary, her ground game and energy are going to turn this into an EC landslide at the 11th hour, while Low T Trump continues to cancel appearances and make word salads going into the final weekend.

It took 8 years, but people are finally seeing this clown for who he is and they are rejecting the toxicity he cultivates in society. If you are seen standing with him at this point, you truly will find yourself on a social island with just yourself and other people who are deemed "losers" and "uncool" by society as a whole.

I don't know about 7 but I have 5. I waver on NC and I think one of GA or Zona goes sideways.

Part of that is latest Marist Polling:

Harris +2 in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin amongst likely voters, +3 in Michigan with likely voters and +15 with Independents. That is a 20 point swing from September.

The toxic masculinity, the bigotry and the "Enemy Within" stuff is killing him in the center. Also the fact that they are easily trolled. The ad of women voting for Harris but not telling their husbands has thrown gas on the misogyny fire and its a bad look.

**GOLF CLAP**

This is easily the best ad of this election. Every dude that gets ticked at this deserves every bit of frustration they have in their lives.

To me, the best message of that ad is that we are far, far, far more alike than different. So why choose a person that wants us to hate each other?

I've had many instances and seen many documentaries that make it clear that the vast majority of people want 1) a safe place to live for you and your family, 2) a job to support 1, and 3) an opportunity for your family to carry on (hopefully with some improvement).

That's it. We are told that someone else is so different that they don't somehow deserve the above, which makes no sense.

It's such a simple message that is so overlooked.

Israel-Palestine, HS educated-College educated, Russian-Ukrainian, Americans-Mexicans, white-any other color, etc.

Anyway- that's a great commercial, for sure.

The right wing reaction to that ad is the best example of who Republicans are and it's killing them.

That was the running schtick at my house when I was growing up. Pretty much every election day, one of us kids would wait until supper time to ask my mom if she voted. She responded the same way in every election that I ever remember, "Oh, I had to. I had to go and cancel out your dad's vote."
