2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Remember, while he was POTUS he let his prized 757 sit rotting in a hangar, to the point that it required a full maintenance check and some repairs before it was deemed airworthy again. Guarantee you he only paid for the bare minimum and now he's FAFO.

I don’t how it was for the rest of you all, but I got to see the full ad blitz from the Republican side during the Olympics because of our House seat race. To sum up:

1. Biden is old and bad (they seriously still ran with this despite Biden dropping out weeks ago).
2. Secure The Border! Drugs! Fentanyl! Crime! (the Mexico one thousands of miles and an entire country away)
3. I was endorsed by Trump! (in a video with TFG that seriously looks like an AI made video)

Saddest part is they’ve been massively outspent by Super PACs hammering the Republicans on abortion and Project 2025 and Peltola herself. Peltola meanwhile is hammering on local issues including protecting fisheries, expanding oil production (the Willow project being a big one), and trying to stop the Kroger/Albertsons merger so all of our grocery stores aren’t owned by one company.

It’s fascinating to see the Republicans not have many ads and then having those ads focused on the dumbest topics. Is that happening anywhere else?

It's happening everywhere. It's reality for the GQP, as they have painted themselves into a corner pandering to the dumbest third of the country.

Apparently people walked out of the speech...I watched a bit no one was paying attention.

And again the crowd size was small even for a state like Montana. Oh and rumor is he had to divert from Bozeman to Billings because he owes Bozeman money and the threatened to confiscate his plane.

According to the Center for Public Integrity, Trump's campaign owes more than $1.2 million to 12 cities for police, firefighters and medical service during 2020 campaign rallies. Minneapolis and El Paso each are owed more than half a million. Billings is owed $42K. Along with all his other failings, Trump is a long-time deadbeat.

The NRC was the one running the “Biden bad, Peltola support Biden, Peltola bad” ad and they ran it for two weeks! The ad was completely irrelevant and that was the only Republican ad running for two weeks. Dahlstrom (the Trump backed Republican) finally had an ad out last Friday. Meanwhile Peltola has had two ads running the entire time and two different Super PACs running ads as well. They’re getting outspent in Alaska and people want to convince me the Republicans are a lock to keep the House?

It is likely cheaper to run national ads with the broad message than to buy local ads and spending money to tailor the message to that specific constituency. It is the same reason I see ads for fast food chains that have no stores in Michigan.

These were clearly local bought ads because they had Peltola in them.

I got pointed toward a video from "Angry Cops" that actually break down the issue. Was directed to it from TikTok videos from Feralsai.

Basically: yep, it was sh*tty that he used the rank he didn't earn for the hot minute after retirement, but it was caught and corrected by the DoD. Biggest issue is how he got out early when he had two years to go still. Retirement does take time to process, but there's still questions about timing.

I dunno seems like a stretch. And funny none of this came up when he ran for Governor...twice! This doesn't add up.

We are going to find out his commander has skeletons in his closet or is flat out lying. And the fact that a "correspondent" and a draft dodger are attacking a guy who did 20+ years. This is stupid and thankfully Walz isn't taking the bait. Its going to be shooting when CNN hammers it if they interview him while ignoring the other side almost completely.

In that case, you love to see it. I only saw broad stroke GOP ads about the border. Still waiting for the dirty Canadian hordes to swim across the lake or river to pillage and burn...

We got that stuff from the Trump backed candidate and her ad. Though like I said, we only got it for a short time.

Surprise surprise, military bootlickers come out of the woodwork with an axe to grind.

New preliminary data from major U.S. cities shows a sharp drop in violent crime in the first half of the year — more than 25% in some communities.
The number of homicides in the 69 reported cities fell by more than 17% during the first half of 2024 compared to the last period last year.

The drop puts a serious dent in one of Trump's most frequently used lines of attack. https://www.axios.com/2024/08/12/violent-crime-harris-trump-election

Obviously criminals know Trump is going to win so they are stopping criming :p

I believe the plane is still grounded in Billings, so I tend to think it does have a legit mechanical issue. He's jetting now around in a Gulfstream G550 that allegedly used to belong to Epstein, lmao.

It has been confirmed it was an old Epstein charter plane :p:eek:

I do love that Trump is back on Twitter he is so desperate

Also, someone posted onto Threads, and found the TikTok video, of a person who was close friends with people who have contracted work for Trump. The main story was that there was a guy who got into a big contract for heavy construction with Trump. Racked up over three Million owed by Trump. Trump and his lawyers dragged this man and his company through the mud for months. (Might have been over a year). Subcontractors were beating down his door wanting to get paid.

Finally, to "end" the lawsuits, Trump's camp offered half of what was owed. The man, beaten down from this whole drama, agreed. Receives the certified check. Deposits check. It clears. Then grabs the titles to all his heavy equipment, cranes, and trucks, rounds up all his tools and liquidated them for the certified check. Takes those checks to the bank, deposits them.

Then goes and finds what is owed to each subcontractor and other debtors. Goes to the bank and gets certified checks for every one of them and then goes and mails them out certified mail.

Then, the contractor goes home and blows his brains out.

It's the *same*god*dammed* pattern with this man. This isn't the only story thst has been told like this. Why is this man placed on such a pedestal?

Because he is their dog whistle. He’s airing their baseless grievances, and has a big platform to do it.

Add to that, he had 24 years. While not all reenlistment contracts are 4 years, it’s by far the most common.

Also, for somebody to get out of a contract early, with an honorable discharge that retains benefits, there has to be some really good reason. Or, most likely, it’s all bollocks.

The headline is tricky. This new guy was never Walz’s superior. He joined the battalion three months after he left. He’s buddies with the guy that started all of this in 2018. (Behrends)

My guess is Walz was chosen over these guys that are whining for promotions.

Yeah like I said...this all sounds fishy as heck.

As I said on Threads...Jesse Ventura goes after stolen valor like a hawk. He endorsed Harris-Walz and he doesn't usually endorse.
