What is a Dean Phillips?

Phillips probably has no ill will towards Biden he is probably doing it for an issue. He probably wants to run for Senate one day.

He is a smart dude I doubt he has any belief anyone will pay much attention.

I assume he's rolling the dice with the idea that if Biden croaks the party will have a cataleptic seizure over Kamala (too right for the Leftists, too black for the Centrists) and he thinks if it's close enough to the convention he can White Horse it.

We'll see if he plays nice. If he says nothing but nice things but just runs around or free solos of surfs or something he's trying to be Look! Not Hospice Brandon. If he starts saying mean things then he's a dingleberry and should be taken out back the barn and Dakotaed.

And then shot.

And then Wisconsined.

There are 2 dozen people who would be named before him...

Maybe he wants a job in the administration that I could buy.

I can tell you the guy is quite the shmoozer and is well liked. When he first ran he did a meet and greet with the Teachers Union and my SO got yo interview him. She raved about him above all other candidates that ran for any office that year.

Then a week later a handwritten thank you card was sent to our house...she was sold for life.

THe progressives seem to not be a fan. Seems to be related to his NLRB stances.

(Not trying to be argumentative or anything, just reporting what I was seeing from accounts I follow.)

MOre reporting has come out from what seems like more competent and local sources. It sounds more like he has been asked to run int he primary and he's not really interested. But may be using this as an opportunity.

I do believe he's putting feelers out there for the future whether that's for state elections or a position in the administration. THat just seems like the kind of thing you'd do given his track record of a classic liberal Democrat (as opposed to more of a progressive or centrist).

My kuntry kuzins are in Gym's district. They are not sick of Nazis. There are a lot of folks like them throughout most of the state.

My kids are adopted from an Asian country. My aunt, also in Gym's district, was **** posting some serious anti-immigrant stuff on FB. I pointed out that her niece and nephew were immigrants. Her response? "Well, we think of them as white." That's what you're up against in OH.
No. Kepler is right. The instant that Naziism stops delivering 51%, the GOP will drop Naziism like a hot potato. “Hey guys, we’ve been in favor of diversity and equality all along. Where have you been?”

And when *that* happens, Fox News will stop telling people to be Nazis every 30 seconds, your and my KKkuntry Kuzzins (we’ve all got them) will literally forget to keep thinking Nazi about two attention spans later, i.e. about 3 minutes. That’s why it is going to be a tidal wave.

Unfortunately that is gonna have to wait till 2028... They are all-in on the 2024 election with Nazi/Facism.

And there is still the question as to whether they accept the idea that their line of thought is indeed a minority one in this country. I know may will just shrug it off and move on to what the new norm is, but many will take things to the extreme because they don't know a world that isn't focused on them.

This is a worry. The "everybody I know voted for Mondale" line is funny because that woman should have known better.

But the people who think "everybody I know voted for Dump" can't be expected to know any better. They actually believe the elections have to be stolen because the people they know run 80-90% Republican and they're literally too dumb to realize that doesn't extrapolate to the national population. They are innumerate and illiterate.

I expect both the GOP and the Echo Chamber will try for a while to talk out of both sides of their mouth, to suburbanites with "we're inclusive and humane" and to Cletus with "wink wink." After all, that's what they did before, back in Jesse Helms' day. That can still play.

The best and worst part about fascism is that it burns extremely hot. Either it's recognized as a threat and everyone mobilizes to extinguish it immediately or it burns everything to the ground.

Well, it generally takes a lot of innocent people with it.
