Anyone know why the UMD/WI series is Fri/Sun?

Scratch that. Just found out the boys high school section games are at the Amsoil arena tomorrow.

(I'm sure I don't really need to post, you were all watching...)

Long Island Univ, in their first season, has knocked off #1 seed Sacred Heart 3-0, and will play for their conference championship tomorrow.

(Really first rate FREE video stream from St Anslem, while I was icing my very sore Achilles.)

Minnesota 1, MSU 0 after a period. The Mavericks had a good flurry at the end of the period, and have 76 seconds of power play time to start the second, but overall are fortunate to be down only one goal.

I think I've figured out how WCHA refs decide to call penalties. It a factor of 5...They've got to see 5 infractions before they call one.

Beautiful shorthand goal by UMD put them up 2-0 midway through the 2nd period.

And the frustrated sinners commit such an obvious penalty that even a WCHA ref has to make the call. ;)

Penalty is commited by the sinners...Not called and the UMD player, Hughes, gets an unsportsmanlike call. That wouldn't have happened with proper reffing.

We'll call it a make-up for the non-call on Presley hit a few minutes before. (But, yeah, the ref should have let whatever the comment go; he pretty much deserved it.)

This is like a replay of yesterday's game; UW pretty moribund early, fall behind, get a couple of PP chances that wakes them up.

Let's hope the third period goes the way yesterday did, as well.

A goal by each team early in the 3rd has it tied 3-3.

Brodt with the goal to make it 4-3. Wisconsin did a poor job there.

Again with the inconsistencies. No call on the sinners and a call against UMD. Both SHOULD have been called. 5-3 lead for UMD

The sinners score with about a minute left and it's nail-biting time.

with 14.9 sconds left the sinners tie it.
