2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

They actually did bring up the Ivy League. Greeney said that the Ivy League was the only one to do it right, unaware that they did change this year, upon which he was corrected and said "Even the Ivy League, with their trillion dollar endowments, caved to the cash-grab of conference tournaments."

Ironically, the Big Ten, a cash grab conference if you ever saw one, was also one of the last holdouts to having a conference tournament for basketball.

My apologies. I imagine it's an equal level of annoyance to when I hear someone pronounce the "s" at the end of "Illinois". :)

Or when people leave the "h" off of Plattsburgh or Pittsburgh (though at one time, briefly, during it's history, it was Pittsburg).

Or, add a "p" in Binghamton thinking it's part of the Hamptons.

Even worse, when people spell my first name with one "L".

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

You know, I had thought about posting that, but right now they have (hehe) their own problems after being (embarrassing) eliminated in the first round (hahaha) of the Atlantic Hockey tournament (...and it was best of 3 games!!!!) by a team that had only won 3(!) games all season (ROFL)....so why kick them when they are down?

Because......why not ?

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

Can some one clear this up for me once and for all- What is the seeding 1-12? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

There isn't per say as Remy said.

A "GUESS" would be:

1. Norwich
2. St. Norbert
3. Stevens Point
4. Trinity
5. Hobart
6. Oswego
7. Adrian
8. Augsburg
9. Endicott
10. Hamilton
11. Plattsburgh
12. Salem State

Maybe Endicott beats Augsburg/Adrian? Not sure...Doesn't really matter. But I think that's pretty close to how it shook out.

Flip Hamilton/Endicott ignore the 4 western schools, and you get the Eastern bracket.

My only question here is IF Trinity and Hobart both win this weekend, is the game in Hartford or Geneva?

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

It is painful to realize that after 7 years following this site I have come no farther than having "a tiresome emotional investment in a specific region" :D

Now that you have said it, we can begin the rehabilitation. :)

BTW, one thread or 4 for Saturday?

As long as that specific region is the back of the net ;)

I think the person who. said that has a tiresome sense of superiority for a specific region.

Legitimate arguments for both options. In years past, it would easily be 4. Traffic on this forum isn't what it used to be, though. (It's RIT's fault... although really it's the Middlebury crowd who has died down...)
