2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

So did Wisconsiners (ites, ians?) then retaliate by calling them "Flat Landers"? Because as a native Illinoisian who attended Lutheran schools, and therefore had A LOT of teachers from Wisconsin, I never understood why that was suppose to be an insult and/or funny.

Flat Landers isn't generally meant as an insult. The term I hear more often is "FIB" as in "I was driving on I-94 and some FIB cut me off".

I would agree. FIB is the insult, Flatlander is a kindler, gentler swat. And, really, driving south on 55 or 57 can be so flat and boring, I guess.

And Minnesotans are "puddle jumpers", even though Wisconsin has more lakes (some say).

And it is Wisconsinite...

What did I forget? Oh, someone from the Upper Peninsula of Mich. is a Yooper, but that's not an insult, dontcha know.

Greene's Ale House celebrates its 22nd anniversary today March 10. Congrats Jabber - here's to many, many more. #HunterGreenesAndGold

I once did the Chicago to Rock Island drive. It was one of the most boring, flat, featureless drives I ever experienced.

I can see "Flatlander" being an insult...

Are you trying to turn this into a garbage plate/Michigans discussion?

They may try to come close, but nothing beats a Northern NY GALZIER michigan .... buried.... not a big fan of the garbage plate, nor is the garbage plate meat sauce the same as michigan sauce...

One thing is for certain...

Wegmans > Price Chopper ......

Western NY might call itself hot dog county but once those folks discover Michigans, they will soon realize who really should own that name !

So the debate simply comes down to " with or without"; buried or on top" or Clare's vs Mc Sweeney's vs Ronnie's vs ??

But I will second the motion about Wegman's !!
