My new standings

1. Boston College Even with the loss to Hahvad I still think they are the team to beat
2. Minnesota Loss to North Dakota means I can't put them over BC but could be #1A
3. Harvard Gonna give them the nod over Wisco based on their Bean Pot defeat of BC
4. Wisconsin Tie with Minn Duluth also causes them to move down but could be 3A
5. Quinnipiac The team with the least amount of warts out of the #5-10 teams.
6. North Dakota Split with Minny moves them up
7. Minnesota-Duluth Tie and loss to Wisco moves them down
8. Boston University Still can't figure out where they belong
9. Cornell The jeckel and hyde season continues with a loss to Princeton could be 8A
10. Clarkson Wins but not impressive enough wins to move them up.

Word. Even when they win, they manage to make it look as unimpressive as possible, although M-PP did look very good today.

1 Boston College -- you play that Beanpot final ten times, and the Eagles win it seven or eight of them.
2 Minnesota
3 Wisconsin -- over the season they have the exact WINP of Harvard and a slightly higher OPWP, so they get the nod, but only just.
4 Harvard -- great effort tonight, though they could do with a bit more firepower up front.
5 Quinnipiac

6 Boston University -- I mean, sure, why not. Not reliable but more reliable than those below them.
7 Clarkson -- see what I mean?
8 Cornell -- Cornell and St Lawrence have WINP a bit below UMD but OPWP a bit above. UMD won the head-to-head with Cornell and give the impression of being more reliable when it comes to beating worse teams, but whatever, I have an Excel spreadsheet that says Cornell / SLU / UMD so that's the order it is. (The Excel spreadsheet actually says Mercyhurst are 8th, but that's just crazy. You're not the boss of me, Excel spreadsheet).

This weeks theme is coach speak. Forgive the clichés

1. BC - "They were hungrier than we were"..."They just made plays and we didn't."
2. Minnesota - "We play in the best conference top to bottom" "Anybody can beat anyone on any given night." "You saw that tonight."
3. Wisconsin - We came out and gave 110%." "We showed a lot of heart and I loved the compete level our gals showed"
4. Harvard - "Really love the fact that we overcame a lot of adversity early on." "We have a lot of respect for our opponent so it's satisfying to come away with a win."
5. Quinnipiac - "We have gotten away from the fundamentals." "We made mistakes but they are correctable with hard work and film study."
6. UMD - "On the way back to becoming a dynasty, we have hit some bumps in the road and the road doesn't get any easier this week."
7. BU - "One of the things we have talked about is being more consistent in our game to game approach." "We still have a lot of work to do."
8. UND - "Right now we are playing some of our best hockey and feel like we can compete with anyone in the country."
9. Clarkson - "We lost a lot of veteran leadership from last years team but I like the way our younger players have stepped up and filled those shoes."
10. Cornell - "We had a rough start to the year but there is no quit in us." "We're taking it one game at a time and giving it our best."

Inclined, tempted to put BC @ #1 today. Can't really determine #1 with confidence, myself. I am confident the 2015 NCAA champion is among my top 4. Forget the rest, IMO.

Clarkson isn't far from passing UMD. It could do so by this weekend if things break right for the Golden Knights.

I don't really see how any WCHA teams other than Minnesota and Wisconsin should be in the tourney without getting the auto bid.

BU and Duluth both have two left against BC and UM respectively -- 6-10 is going to be a total logjam heading into postseason play.

1) Boston College -- @$^%%#^@
2) Minnesota -- Every single weekend BC does something unimpressive and I'm ready to drop them to #2, Minnesota does something unimpressive-er. Nonetheless, these two are the teams to beat.
3) Wisconsin -- With apologies to Harvard, but I think Wisconsin is the clear #3.
4) Harvard -- Having said that, I think Harvard is the clear #4.
5) Quinnipiac -- Clear #5.

I am very confident in the top 5 with 1 and 2 being by far the closest. Now I'm almost picking teams out of a hat.

7) Minnesota-Duluth
8) North Dakota
9) Clarkson
10) Cornell? I guess?

My spreadsheet is at work so I'll wrap this up tomorrow.
