2015 USCHO Posters Poll -- 2nd Half

Re: 2015 USCHO Posters Poll -- 2nd Half

I don't really see how any WCHA teams other than Minnesota and Wisconsin should be in the tourney without getting the auto bid.
After the first five teams, it looks like a contest to see who can fire the most rounds into one's own foot. For example, I keep thinking Cornell has turned a corner. They only have two losses and two ties in the second half, but after a 3-6-1 start, the Big Red really can't afford much more damage. It's like this most years. There are the teams that are in, and then a swampy mix of teams that look good or bad depending on their previous weekend.

Do you not recognize that flour, sugar, egg, butter, salt and baking soda put in a tin with a paper liner makes a cupcake (a flavorless one as that)? Do you not recognize that a T-bone steak, a baked spud, grilled asparagas and a nice crusty roll makes a great entre? Hello!

Curse you TA: now I am going to crave a T-bone all day. Great post, though.

Thanks. Not to get too off course, but I've been buying these cuts called "flat iron steaks", which I think is a cheaper cut of the flank steak, but with the same 1 way grain in the meat. Medium rare with Montana steak rub....I could eat pounds of that. I actually prefer that to the T bone, though I do love gnawing on the T before giving it to the doggie.

I'm surprised UM is getting 1st place votes with the loss to the sue, which when compared to BC's loss is a larger upset. Maybe all that cupcake lobbying has paid off? When UW lost to UM, most everyone dumped UW to 3rd. UM loses to a lesser opponent and stays #1. Interesting.

4) UW
5) QU
6) BU
7) ND
8) UMD
9) Clarkson
10) Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SLU?

Re: 2015 USCHO Posters Poll -- 2nd Half

1. Boston College A 10-1 weekend keeps them on top
2. Minnesota Still my #1A after sweeping UMD
3. Harvard Impressive win over Cornell and a yawner over Colgate.
4. Wisconsin A split with the Buckeyes drops them from 3A to a 4
5. Quinnipiac Only 1 goal on the weekend but it got them 1 win
6. North Dakota 2 wins over St Cloud moves them to 5A
7. Minnesota-Duluth 2 losses but to Minny I guess I will keep them where they are.
8. Boston University Still can't figure out where they belong Maybe 7A Maybe 9A Maybe 10A
9. Bemidji St Really not sure who belongs here
10. Clarkson 3rd loss to Quinny. Really missing Ambrose.

Out - Cornell after dropping 2 at home this weekend

I may be underrating St. Lawrence on the basis that in the only two games I watched them live they looked terrible. So some observer bias may have crept in.

You think that right up until you actually do. Harvard is probably a better team, but it is no fun to ever play Wisconsin. When you are five minutes into the third period of the game with the Badgers and the score is 0-0 or 1-1 and neither team can complete a pass because the defense has locked down so tight, think back to the nice, free-flowing game that you'd have had with Harvard. I can see BC getting frustrated about being forced to play that type of game against UW. Wisconsin is like a much more talented Quinnipiac.

I'm asking myself "would I rather play UW or HU right now?" And I think I would rather play UW to be honest.

And I'm think to myself "Wisconsin dropping to 4th in the Pairwise wouldn't be the worst thing, if it moves the Badgers to the other side of the bracket and away from Minn.... assuming that Minn hasn't moved past BC into 1st by then!"

May we both get our preference (???)

Re: 2015 USCHO Posters Poll -- 2nd Half

This week's top ten theme is rhetorical questions:

1. BC - Does getting 6 players with BC ties on the US national team roster seem like not enough?
2. Minnesota - Is a team whose seniors have 139 wins, a perfect 41-0 season, 3 WCHA championships, and 2 national titles considered a dynasty?
3. Wisconsin - Would a midwest elitist rank Wisconsin over Harvard all things considered?
4. Harvard - How does Lyndsey Fry go from being on the 2014 US Olymipic roster to not making the 2015 National team roster?
5. Quinnipiac - How is a team with a record of 3-5 in their last 8 games still ranked in the top five?
6. UND - Who the heck is this team and where have they been all year?
7. BU - How do you figure out where to rank this team?
8. Clarkson - Are they good as in 20 wins or bad as in 2 losses to BU?
9. UMD - Does going 0-6-2 against your 2 main rivals mean you are back to being a dynasty?
10. St Lawrence - Wait, What? You didn't just do a coin flip, did you?

Re: 2015 USCHO Posters Poll -- 2nd Half

Re: No. 5, I was asking the same "rhetorical question", quickly followed by another:
Taking this past week's results into consideration, which other team deserves to be ranked ahead of them?
