Yes, I like this. This feels right. With the exception of 1-2 who I think would go 500 and 500 in a 1,000 game series, I think 2 would generally beat 3 six times out of ten, 3 would generally beat 4 six times out of ten, etc., at this particular point in the season.
Idk, it's a gut feeling more than anything. UMD is hot and QU is cold. I suspect UMD's brutal finish to the season might change things but as of right now that's what I feel.I'm really not sure you could say that about this pair.
I find it a tad ironic for such a numbers guy to be basing his rankings on gut feel!Idk, it's a gut feeling more than anything....as of right now that's what I feel.

A pet peeve of mine where the first couple of games to start the season count just as much as what happened last week. Some teams start out great and then fade; some show steady improvement as the season progresses. Some catch fire all of sudden at the very end, while a few others inexplicably lose their mojo right around playoff time. All for a whole host of different reasons that any ranking system can't possibly sense, much less adequately incorporate even when the most recent results are known.Rankings weigh the entire season equally...
Might want to fix that one haha

IMO teams that benefit from good coaching and hard work should be rewarded more.Which to me is a strength. A team that has things figured out from the get go should be rewarded for that.

As Coach Frost likes to say, it's a "process". If you are not improving throughout the season, you are losing ground to other teams that are.Why the assumption that being ready for the first game of the season doesn't involve good coaching and hard work?
