2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Quite the comeback.
Yeah, one wonders what would have happened had the Lakers not given NU that 5-on-3 PP late in the first period to start the comeback.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Appears to be a very evenly played, close game in Bemidji...as expected I guess.

Shots are nearly dead even and still no score after two.

Very tough loss for the Hurst. You outshoot your opponent 32-17 and lose 5-4?! Ouch! That's what happens when you give up 2 PP goals and a shortie but get none of your own. Special teams wins this one.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Badgers up 3-0 after 2 on the strength of two short-handed goals by Sarah Nurse. Outshooting the Huskies 29-4.

From Bemidji, UND and BSU tie at 0-0, UND wins the shootout.

Same two teams tomorrow in Grand Forks.

Gophers and Ohio State tied at 1 after the first period. Kate Schipper scored on the power play from Cameranesi and Potomak. Cara Zubko tied it up with 11 seconds left in the period unassisted in a scrum in front of the net after Leveille couldn't control a rebound.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Gophers now up 3-1 halfway through the second on goals by Piazza and Brook Garzone. That's Garzone's second of the year, after getting none (albeit with 15 assists) last year. She really has looked good so far.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Cameranesi scores twice to make it 5-1. The Gophers continue to take advantage of the long change in the second.

OSU Gametracker hasn't updated for me in about 10 minutes...

The collegehockeystats.net box score hasn't, either. It's now 7-1, as the Gophers have gone 3-for-3 on video reviews.

BU is up 2-1 on Clarkson late in the 2nd.

Thanks...Gametracker still hasn't updated since two minutes into the 3rd.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Ohio State scores with 1.3 seconds left in the 3rd for the 7-2 final. Goals in the last minute of a period didn't make much of a difference tonight.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

BSU loses in a sh%tout 1-0. The Beavers started slow, couldn't clear the zone & ran around for at least the first 6-7 minutes of the 1st. Only the ?'s inability to hang on to the puck, actually pass or shoot a lick kept them from burying BSU early. After that the Beavers picked it up and had some decent shots. The second period was up and down but not exactly exciting. The Beavers did their usual good job of blocking shots but the only real threat was a couple of break-a-ways by the ? but in both cases the BSU D caught up with them & prevented even a shot. Neither goalie was really tested until the sh^tout. The first half of of the third was just like the second period, a snooze fest. But at the 11 minute mark both teams decided to play hockey and it was actually pretty good. A lot of blocked shots again and the ?'s had to more break-a-ways chased down & scuttled. Either the Beavers D is fast or the ? forwards need some treadmill time. The OT was pretty much all ? with the Beavers blocking shots left and right but there were not a lot of chances either way.

The first ? shooter scored and the first 2 Beavers looked disinterested, the 3rd shooter beat the goalie & rang one off the pipe.

I had picked BSU to finish ahead of the ?. They did not show me anything to make me think I got that right, the ? slightly better but neither are going to be a real threat unless they get a lot better or are saving it all up for Us W and M.
