Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota Women's Hockey: The Maroon & Gold Strike Back!

With school back in session, Thursday GWH feature articles from The Minnesota Daily are back. Trio of freshmen finding groove

Also, Sarah Davis, Kelly Terry, and Sarah Potomak have been invited to Team Canada's national team winter camp. Potomak is the only member of Canada's U-18 squad to receive an invitation.

That's great. Just wish it was against a decent team.
When it comes to the women's team getting on high def TV, we should be happy with any games that appear on the schedule. And I always hate to write off any opponent, as upsets can and do happen. Like whoever thought the Beavers would take 5 of 6 points from the Gophers early this season? I'm not saying that will happen here, but I am happy to see both teams get on FSN, especially when the Gophers play away from home.

Or the Gophers scoring twice in the final 2 minutes to come from behind? Too darn close to breaking that string to take them lightly.

They seem to have missed one.

Congratulations to #22 on her 200th point as a Gopher! Although she has already moved beyond that milestone. :)

Couldn't get to the broadcast today. From the box it looks like #13 was not suited up again today. Is that correct?

You are correct. Editorial comment from Dan was that it was lower body, and a conservative decision. He intimated she could have played under different circumstances.

She got hurt first game against Mankato last week but came back and played. She then did not dress the 2nd Mankato game or today's game.
Ugh what the hell, man... is she expected to be out long term or what?

If the team knows, no one is saying. She was at today's game and didn't appear to be walking with the limp she had last Saturday night. Beyond that, I have no idea.

Blasts from the past...

The Badgers without their top 5 Canadians scored 11 last weekend, offence will not be a issue for them this year. their freshman class separates them from the gophers, it's a amazing class.
I have the Badgers beating the Gophers 3of4 in the season and sweep in playoffs..

so the writer thinks #21 will play wing eh? a few others have said that, I'll be very surprised if she is not one of the centers this year

I guess the sweep in the playoffs could still be in play. Thankfully, the coaching staff thought it was a good idea to put 21 and 22 together.
