Clarkson 5 Colgate 1 Final

Mercer gets 2 goals in the third to complete the hat trick. Howe with the 5th goal.
Taylor Craig, daughter of BU and 1980 Olympic goalie Jim Craig with the Colgate goal.
Clarkson outshoots Colgate 30-13.

Harvard beat Quinny 2-1 so the last ECAC unbeaten goes down and Cornell beats SLU 4-2. So the 2 teams I thought would be the class of the ECAC are starting to finally win. Will be an interesting 2015.

Minnesota beats St. Cloud 7-0 in a game that was actually more lopsided than the 12-0 victory last night. I'm not sure I've ever seen a team that was as flat out uninterested in playing a hockey game as the Huskies were today.

Because she just beat Northeastern. If I'm coach, I'm not giving up on season right now. ECAC playoffs within reach unbelievably.

Lundberg is having a great season, but Union has played several non-conference games that would not have affected the ECAC standings. It's not giving up at all, it's looking forward to seeing what your returning goalie is capable of.

No, but every game affects Barcomb's chance to return next season, so she continues to play the goalie that she KNOWS can win games. Ridding is an unknown and Barcomb doesn't have the job-security to find out what she is about and prepare for the future. This is a business for the coaches and many of them need to win today, not worry about the future - that luxury is generally reserved for folks like Frost who have consistently won over the years.

BC wins 6-1 over Dartmouth

You're going to think I'm sandbagging but I thought it was BC's worst game of the year.

I thought BC played a good first period. That was the most impressed I've been by the Eagles so far. I liked that Dartmouth didn't just stand there and watch, but kept trying. The Big Green didn't play perfectly, but all you can ask of anyone is that they try. One of these games, somebody is going to be capable of fighting back. That's when your season will start.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Oh totally agree with you, the first period was excellent. Then I don't know if they took their foot off the gas or what.

Maybe in the third. I thought in the second period, Dartmouth got better, and quit running around and started playing better fundamentally. The Big Green covered people, kept them to the outside, and didn't let as many people stand around the slot uncovered. Down the stretch, that started to happen again, so I don't know if some of the Dartmouth players were tired or just looked at the scoreboard and lost hope. Even in the first period, it was mainly your power play that made it look so one-sided.

Final: UND 3, RIT 1. Three power-play goals (Jakobsen (UND), Stone (RIT), Menke (UND)) and an empty-netter (Dalen (UND)).

Penn State is up on Mercyhurst 2-0 with about five minutes to go in the second. The shots are about even, 20-17 in favor of Mercyhurst.

Now end of two. The Lakers dominated the first period, but Whitlinger was strong in net. The PP is dangerous for Penn State, and MU gave it too many chances early in the 2nd. Penn State has excellent video quality.

Penn State 2, Mercyhurst 1 Final. Another CHA program gets its first win over the Lakers.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Bemidji State 4, St. Cloud State 1

The Huskies scored first, and then the Beavers responded with their four.

Stat of the day, announced on BSU's radio broadcast: the Beavers have not yielded a PP goal against since the first game at Minnesota on October 31st.

And Whitlinger came within 2-1/2 minutes of her third consecutive shutout.
