Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Still Gophers 0, Princeton 0 after two periods. Shots now 32-9; I've been worried about our finishing for a few weeks now and it could bite us today.

Apparently, Harvard can can sometimes score in a period and can sometimes defend, but can't do both.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Gophers score twice in 1:04 early in the third period to seize control.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Minnesota wins 2-1. Heavy Gopher dominance in possession and shots but dumb penalties and some combination of great goaltending and bad shooting kept it close.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Hannah Brandt broke the ice with a beautiful goal for the Gophers and TTT's fantasy team

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

UW closes the game out with 3 third period goals to win 5-0 yet again.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

And looked a little less in control as Princeton came storming back with a goal and several solid chances.
Yeah...I thought seize control was a little overstated. Not a tremendously impressive start to the series for Minnesota. While Tiger's 'tender played well I think she got some help with the shooting quality Eeyore mentioned. Too many struggling to finish on the Gopher squad right now...and throughout the schedule thus far IMO. Some sloppy play around the Gopher net also.

Perfect summary.

UMD 2 - BSU 0 final.

SOG: BSU 32 - UMD 29

Looks like UMD ratcheted up the SOG in the 3rd like they did yesterday but yesterday it was to no avail.

Quinny beats Clarkson 3-1. One goal was an ENG.
Shots were 29 to 25 Quinny.
Emma Woods gets her 2nd GWG against the Knights this year.
One penalty was called on each team.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Minnesota ahead 1-0 after the first period. Shots listed as 16-8 and Dan's commentary makes it sound like it was pretty lopsided but, again, the Gophers aren't converting good chances.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

After the 1st at Princeton it's Gophers 1, Tigers 0

CD getting a lot of camera time. Wave to the camera CD.

I think Princeton has been the more aggressive team thus far, and luckily for the Gophers, the Tigers didn't convert their chances.

2-0 Gophers early in the second. Brandt with two assists and Menefee with a goal to help the Fightin' Tony's.

Edit: Scoring change on the second goal, so make that two for Menefee.

I traded away Brandt and McMillen (among others). I'm in last place so I needed to shake things up.
