2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

well mookie is a moron!

i thought the new 'wind putting' rule was replace. seems it is just 'no penalty if blows and hits your club'. which is dumb cause you can rest your club now and not have a penalty while if you don't rest your club there the wind can blow your ball all over creation as the rule used to be... the new rule ONLY keeps one from being penalized if the wind blown ball hits your club at rest.

anyhows.....

mookie finished with 78/68 (getting 10 there) and would have won. but on 18th hole dude played with mentioned that mookie replaced ball. mookie thought that was new rule, as he knew the old rule. dude said he wasn't sure about new rule.
mookie checked at scorers table, and dude was right.

mookie added two strokes to score on 9th hole and instead came in t4.

You shot 67, and are getting 11 shots? Sandbagger!!!!
nooooo. shot 78 and since i got 11 it worked out to 67 (net). :D

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

So... probably a stupid question. Should I snag a grounds ticket to Sawgrass for Sunday of this weekend's Players Championship and drive 4 hours over there?

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Well, I'll be spending Mother's Day at Sawgrass. Got my grounds pass. Pretty excited to see the Stadium course in real life.

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

I think I have to change all my scores..

Beautiful morning at Sawgrass. Following Bo in the first group, should be a fantastic Sunday at the Players. Looking forward to joining the circus for the 2:28 tee time!

Course must be playing tough today. Bo playing very well.

Lots of very tough pin locations. Bo has definitely shown that a low score is possible. Wind is picking up, but still only partly cloudy.

I sense this afternoon is going to be a great finish with a lot of leader movement, be it forward or back.

Should be a great day for you.

Lingmerth is a former placekicker--and a good one, I hear. Those guys are pretty immune to pressure. Sunday with a lead at a (minor) major is whole new kind of pressure though, I would think.

If we check the Score Updates thread, are you doing a play-by play?

Ha, no pbp from me. They are pretty stupid about phones being out here. I'll give occasional insight about TW though.

Playing pretty well. Greens and cups have been mean through 6. Nobody else is really pulling away though. I still think he is the favorite. Wittenburg has gotten into trouble a few times, and neither Sergio or Leithman have been getting much going.

What a piece of crap Sergio is, Noonan, Nooooooonan

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

Another fine water shot for Sergio, what a joke he is
3 in the water on the last 2 holes, nice wok Serg,

Ties Tiger on 16, ends up 7 down after 18, awesome 2 holes for Serg

We've all done it. It comforts me when somebody a heck of a lot better than me hits the exact same shot that I hit on Wednesday.

Ms. Vonn was in attendance at the trophy presentation. Ugh. Beautiful.

Such a fun day. Highly suggest making the trip. TV doesn't do Sawgrass justice, which I suppose is true about most courses.

Re: 2013 Golf Season - Does it leave you scratching?

I do love it when that little Spanish pin chokes. That was about the worst I've seen since Van De Velde, though he still takes the cake for choking away the three-shot lead on the final hole, in a major. :D

You know #17 @ TPC Sawgrass is an extremely difficult hole when between 8-12 players put it in the drink in a given day, for all 4 days of the tournament. Especially when one of them decides to do it TWICE!!! /still snickering.

While seeing Sawgrass in person wasn't as high on my bucket list as Augusta, I'm stoked I was able to check that one off. It was said at the awards ceremony, but a major Bravo Zulu needs to go out to the grounds crew. After the rain Florida got last weekend, they had the course in tip-top shape for the tournament.

Hopefully The Tiger can keep his play at an elevated level through the rest of the majors this year and snag 1 or more.
