Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

My party? I've mentioned countless times that I am not a part of the Republican party. I haven't voted on the Republican ticket for a while now. Hell, I didn't even vote for RMoney!

Welcome to ignore.
I think what he means is, "the party that ought to be available to people like you but has wandered off in the wilderness of absurdity." Not your party, or mine, right now, for sure.

Then why did he use the terminology that it is my party?

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

To paraphrase Stephen Colbert - the next time a GOP candidate feels the urge to talk about rape, just pick up a fork and stab yourself in the eye. It'll have the same effect.

The rape stuff is certainly not what did it, but it was a piece of extremists alienating an awful lot of people. letting religious nuts try and control who can have birth contol covered, trying to define what is legitimate rape...purge the extremists and I think a lot of people, namely women, won't have such a hard time voting republican now and then.

The rape stuff cost them 2 seats in the Senate this year. It's arguable that the tea party cost them Mass. too, since Brown, with a 60% approval rating, might have otherwise gotten re-elected if the national platform isn't as derpy. The Tea Party cost them 2-3 seats two years ago too.

That's control of the senate right there.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

You libs will have a new pundit to worship next time around: Josh Putnam. Nate Silver is so 2008 (although he was quite a bit closer than Dick Morris :p). Seriously, I'm always surprised when people can't tell the difference between a journalist and a paid spin-meister.

Letting Warren have that pseudo-meaningless job the Senate wouldn't approve her for would have done the same thing. The rest of the Dems in Massachusetts weren't all that hot.

Take a look at this page:

Now click on the shift from 2008. That's a lot of shift to the right. Which scares me to some extent.

#1 rover learned me up yesterday that the nyt doesn't know what they're talking about.
#2 "300" by itself is nothing, one big state flips and you can lose. Fla goes to blue and it's a decisive victory (albeit still 24 states to 26).

I don't see any of the opposition sitting around saying "we better go along with what he wants now... He just won 56% of the popular vote and 47 states. He has a mandate!". Unfortunately it is close enough in these late deciding states to allow them to yap that "my constituents sent me here to do X, so that's what I'll do".
I would live to see something introduced today to raise the top rate to 38% and split the 33% to 35% over 250k.
Use that mandate mr president and file the bill.

Charles Krauthammer...I want to be this guy. He is wrong about almost everything and somehow gets paid a lot of money to do it! I mean Scooby does that every day and I doubt he is rich ;)

The GOP is screwed because it is filled with idiotic yes men like him.

Hey where is Karl Rove to mea culpa? ;)

And Dick Morris. I should have went into politics. More money, better looking people, etc.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

Last night made me sick to my stomach. It is sad to see how stupid the country has gotten. I'm embarrassed to share a state and country with these liberal pieces of ****.

Blame Lincoln.

More on Dick Morris:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83490.html

Fox News contributor Dick Morris said on Wednesday that his prediction that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney would beat President Barack Obama was wrong because his election models were not reflective of “the new America.”

“I think that the reason the prediction I made was wrong is that I was criticizing the polling because I said it reflected the same turnout model as there was in 2008. And I said that I thought that was a one-off affair and that it would not continue and it would not be the permanent turnout model for the United States,” Morris said on Fox News.

How did you feel in '00? Or '04? Those elections are what set this up. Had the country been run conservatively then instead of by a bunch of thugs, you never would have had to put up with Obama. Your shot will come again in '16. Make sure your Rep candidate doesn't resemble those of the Bush/Cheney era.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

The Dems need to quit with the high and mighty thinking they're right 100% of the time. If anything, they're the selfish ones.
BOTH sides need to stop thinking they are all right and the other side is all wrong- see post below. Throwing a temper tantrum because your side lost or assuming you should totally have things your way because you won is what has us in this mess. Emoting all over the place gets us exactly no where. Until people let go of the need to be totally right and have only their way we are screwed. Having one side say the otherside will cause out downfall is a cop-out. If people stopped whining and actually started to work constructively with each other then a partial solution might be possible. With the country so divided neither side will be able to get all of what they want and they should all grow up enough to figure that out. Sadly, even though the vast majority of the people feel this is what should happen saying so is not rewarded with votes.

I'm not sure we'll make it that far. Obama will have this country bankrupt before then. And there will be no one to blame but him and every piece of **** that voted for him.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

You were hoping inflation would slow and the dollar would be stronger? Bad news, broke people.

Wouldn't civility be nice? For those of us that are older that is what we grew up with. I wonder how many people in their 30's and younger actually remember a time when people across the aisle could do this. It seems like such a long time ago that this was the norm.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election 5: Election Day Countdown

Teddy Kennedy, Michael Dukakis, John Kerry, Mitt Romney. So if they finally win one will Massachusetts proclaim that a dynasty too? :p

That's funny... or wishful thinking.

Then you have the cynical *******s (such as the ecoterrorists) that can't do anything but complain. Also, partial solutions make things worse.
