2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

Re: 2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

The BC/MN matchup sort of reminds me of the 2010 BC/UW championship game, in that UW was very, very talented, but had no frozen four experience, and I think that is what ended up costing them the game. The same thing happened to BC back in the 98 title game vs Michigan, where BC had a MAJOR edge in talent (Gionta, Reasoner, Farkas, Mottau, Bellefuille, Allen, etc), but Michigan had more upper classmen and the FF experience on their side and of course held on to beat BC in OT. Not suggesting that this means MN is going to lose, but I think the experience is the one big advantage that BC has.

Just a fun dig, but yes you could care less but you'd have to stop talking about it. ;)

I still think people are overlooking the winner of the 1st semi against BC on Saturday night.

I like our chances.

What's the fun in that? ;)

Seriously though, I like our chances too. If they play as well as they did this weekend, this team has what it takes to beat BC.

One of several, along with better talent, better coaching, better playing style, better fans. At least MN's home white sweaters are way better than those mustard colored monstrosities BC wears now. :D

I think the question you should be asking is this: even if Minnesota wins, how badly is BC going to whip up everyone in the final? Jerry York makes the impossible likely.

Regardless of who wins the BC/Minn game, everyone will be rooting for the Ferris/Union winner on Saturday (except BC or Minn fans). That will be a true David/Goliath game for the banner.

Many WCHA fans stick together even with *gasp* Minnesota. But beyond that, youre right.

Right.... Name one.

Go Union/Ferris winner!

I'll be cheering for Minnesota to win it all next weekend. When I went to the Frozen Four in 1997 (Final Four, but whatever), there was a group of Minnesota fans cheering on the Sioux in the title game. I will never forget that. Add on 15 years of maturity and respect for all of the programs in college hockey, and there was no doubt that I would cheer on whoever represented the WCHA in the Frozen Four.

Obviously my team is in it this year, but I'm the same way.

No way in bleep am I rooting for the rodents. My head will explode if the unthinkable happens and the male and female rodents win it all in the same year. This board won't survive that kind of event.

I am still holding out hope for the meteor. :D

As long as you don't survive, it'll be worth it all!
