Sarah Palin says this is no way to run a shadow campaign/bilk followers for money. ;)

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

With Christie announcing, "now is not my time", I'm left wondering if the smart Republicans (no, it's not an oxymoron) foresee another 4 years of recession and would prefer to reap the benefits of leaving Obama "in charge" of policy for now? In 2016, the legislature should be solidly Republican and the voters also ready for a change at the top, leaving the new pres with a free rein.

Just wondering. Otherwise, why is nobody running?

YOU say "nobody's running," that doesn't make it so. I'm guessing the main disqualification for anyone running for the GOP nomination in your mind is, they're Republicans. As to the fantasy scenario of "sitting this one out," that may be a hot topic in the Yale faculty lounge, but nowhere else. There is the little matter of Supreme Court nomnations just to name one reason not to let Deadmeat win by default.

I shouldn't have called them nobodies. But none of the current candidates are inspiring to me or a lot of the electorate, it seems like the nomination would be a cakewalk for a talented executive-type conservative. Not that Christie (in particular) is any more conservative than Romney... but he seems more forthright.

So who is inspiring? Ryan, Cantor, Palin, Trump, Paul II?

Christie and Mitch Daniels had more support than anyone, without even running. Nuts & bolts fixer-uppers. Or Marco Rubio, an inspiring rhetorician.

Republicans need to stop complaining and just nominate Perry already. He's everything the party stands for: Dumb, from Texas, borderline racist, policies straight outta the 19th century, can't speak in complete sentences, etc. Really, what more can you ask for? He even has executive style hair (although in fairness so does Romney). The sooner you give him the nod the better off you'll be, because the more people get to know him the less they like apparantly.

Rand Paul's just another creeper, but Ron Paul is weirdly VERY inspiring. I disagree with about 98% of the guy's domestic politics, but when I hear him speak I keep thinking "Yes! Follow the yellow brick road!!!!" :D

And on foreign policy, he's more inspiring than any candidate from either party.

Early on, I abhored Perry. He's everything I don't want in a chief exec. But then as it became apparent that he's nearly unelectable, I came to morbidly root for him. No, I really don't want another bait and switch social conservative.

Every time I hear Paul talk about foriegn policy, I want to follow him to the ends of the earth. Really. But then I'm reminded just where the ends of the earth are...

I think why wouldn't we want to go back to the 18th century?

And then I think, if you're going to choose a Chaos God to follow, why not Slaanesh?

The libtard catechism

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

The conservative catechism

Cute, but innacurate. When was the last time a conservative accused a libtard of being a racist? Most libtards can't go three sentences without accusing a conservative of wanting to restore Jim Crow. Libtards talk about hair a lot: Perry, Palin. They claim conservatives are stupid, and when shown facts which contradict that point (Bush's SAT's and grades at Yale were better than Kerry's) they change the subject or have a bout of bad hearing. There's a conservative catchism all right, but this ain't it.

That's nonsense. Some liberals can't go three sentences without accusing conservatives of racism. Definitely not most. And some conservatives can't go half a sentence without referring to ALL liberals as retarded. Again, definitely not most.

Again, cute but incorrect. Let me make a slight correction, there isn't a liberal anywhere in America who can go three sentences without accusing his opponants of racism. And it starts in the WH with Deadmeat. You'll remember: "the police acted stupidly." Are you suggesting libtards AREN'T retarded? I'm gonna require proof.
