Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Seems to me we know where he stands. He wants to get even richer.

FYP.

The worst thing that could happen to Newt would be to actually win the nomination. If he comes up just short he can play the Republican Resentment Rodeo for enough cash to burn through twelve more mistress-wives.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Which is too bad (I know you're saying he's un-nominateable, but again, too bad).

Can you imagine a Paul-Obama contest? That would be the cleanest breath of fresh air we've had in our national politics since Eisenhower-Stevenson.

Not to mention that Paul would be way to the left of Obama on foreign policy which would make every pundit's head asplode for messing up their inane narratives.

I'd vote for Paul in a heartbeat, he may be wacky, he might be the leader of a cult, I don't know but we wouldn't be fighting wars all the world if he was commander in chief.

Also, it is not as if he could simply change the entire shape of American fiscal (or monetary) policy by fiat (get it? "fiat"?). I would absolutely consider voting for him, if for no other reason than rewarding the GOP for nominating somebody with measurable brain activity.

It would also be the critical test of conspiracy theories, since if the CIA actually does run the planet he would be dead before Inauguration Day and afterwards it would be shockingly discovered that he was a serial killer pedophile dope fiend.

I still might vote for Paul too (it changes daily).

I wouldn't count out Gingrich in a main election. Jobs are king. We have yet to see how the US economy (which seems on an upward trajectory based on consumer appetite). The country does appear to be making a recovery on most everything but jobs. Yet at the same time, there's the perception of a cratering US economy based on Europe's impending implosion.

This would make an awesome tee-shirt ~The name Romney on the top with a pair of flip-flops underneath.

There's probably some Kerry ones on a pallet in a warehouse somewhere. We can cross out Kerry's name and put Romney/Gingrich on there and we're all set.

I recall a statement about Churchill (one of the founders of the modern welfare state) that he always nailed his colors to the mast. Which mast, though, could change.

Man, for a second there, I thought you meant Paul Ryan. I had to reread this twice.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Ron Paul is a lunatic. I appreciate his uniqueness and willingness to take on unpopular stances, but when those stances are dangerous and unworkable the guy isn't any more suitable to be President than Michelle Bachmann is.

We're talking about a party where people don't understand or believe in science and think Zeus planted dinosaur bones to test their faith.

To say a current Republican is a lunatic is a tautology.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

This is about as close to Concern Trolling that Kos ever gets (usually it's more about Molotov Cocktail Throwing) but even stripped of the agenda it's pretty hard to argue with the basic premise.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Also, is there any truth to the rumor that Old Pio was missing for awhile because of his job with the Cain Campaign, which was to find the guy new chicks to harass?

We're way past harrassment now.

I guess kids in poor families have no work ethic.

What is wrong with these people?
