2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

As a tie breaker we'll go with how many titles each team has won with only Americans (harder to do) and then how many with only in-state recruits (hardest to do).

Minnesota wins. Thanks for playing :D

Okay JDubbs, if that helps you sleep at night, you can make up fake tie-breaker scenarios to break a tie for a quasi-title with Yale from over 80 years ago. I'm not sure how many Americans played for that Yale squad, and how many Americans played for that Gopher squad, so I'll leave it up to you to figure that all out.

I always sleep well at night. I'm a Gopher fan :)

And BTW, the Gophers won the <a href="http://www.gopherhockeyhistory.com/players/roster.asp?rosterlist=1975-1976">1976</a> and <a href="http://www.gopherhockeyhistory.com/players/roster.asp?rosterlist=1978-1979">1979</a> titles using only in-state players. Every player who played at least one game heralded from the great state of Minnesota. And the <a href="http://www.gopherhockeyhistory.com/players/roster.asp?rosterlist=2001-2002">2002</a> title was won with only Americans. In fact, only Grant Potulny came from outside Minnesota.

Those all happened much more recently than 80 years ago, and not during the era of college hockey you'd like to pretend never happened ;)

The tiebreaker that I was referring to was for the 1929 title. The Gophers did not tie with anyone for a title in 1976, 1979, or 2002.

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Both teams have 5 NCAA titles. Both teams have 7 total titles.

The tie breaker is the Gophers have more (many more) titles using all American rosters. The icing on the cake is the two titles with only in-state players. We are, and likely always will be, the only program that has been able (only the jealous say "want to") do that.

The end ;)

He's using what happened in '76 and '79 to break the tie for '29. Yeah, I didn't get it either.

As fun as it was to argue with a middle-school kid, when they start bringing in fantasy and make believe into their arguments it is time to cut the cord. I finally put JDubbs on ignore. :p:D:D

As fun as it is to act like a middle-school kid and attack people's viewpoints, when they won't let me get away with cherry-picking which parts of history can be included and which cannot, it is time to cut the cord. I cannot cope with the fact that the Gopher program has accomplished things that my program will never be able to accomplish and I am to insecure to be reminded of that. So, I put JDubbs on ignore. :( :( :(

Fixed :D

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Since you did not even attend UMinn, do you need a sponsor, like Scooby, to get in to see games?

burd, he is a delusional middle-school kid. Certainly you remember when you were 13 and your favorite teams were absolutely the best and could never be seen in a negative light? I certainly remember debating with a friend in middle-school that the Vikings were actually a better franchise than the Packers. Think about how absolutely idiotic that was. Well, that is what he is. A 13-year-old kid who can't come to grips with reality. Now, maybe in time he'll mature (one can only hope), and the fantasy stories about his wife, his private jet, high-paying corporate job, and owning land where it is not legal to own land will come to end. Until then, just pop him on your ignore list. Considering most of the Gopher fan base has disowned/ignore him, I suggest we all do the same.

Lots of sour grapes and shaky rationalizations in there. Let me guess, when you tried to convince your "friend" that the Vikings were a better franchise than the Packers, you tried telling him that all football history before 1970 didn't count and that none of their traditions (publicly owned, one of first teams, etc..) were relevant?

You have come a long way from that 13-year old, grasshopper.

So those players from other countries that want to play for a USA college don't count or are less of a human than a USA player? Nice stretch bozo.
