2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Both classes are very high-end classes, and are each deserving of praise. Right now, it is arguably a 1a-1b type situation. Michigan also has a very strong class for the 2013-2014 season, and they shouldn't be left out of this equation. Ultimately, it will be what these classes do on the ice in their (hopefully) four years that will truly determine which class is the best.

Agreed. Michigan has to keep all of its commits though (something they have recently struggled to do). But if they do, you're right, they are right up there too.

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Anyone here read BC's message board? If you don't, you should. Great comedy. They actually believe they have the "pick of the litter when it comes to kids who want to go the college route".

Really? Try out-recruiting Minnesota in Minnesota. Especially in the Twin Cities. Try out recruiting NoDak in NoDak or Northwest Minnesota. Try out recruiting Sconnie in Sconnie.

Sounds like someone thinks they're the new arrogant, but nothing beats the original.

They dont need to recruit much out there, plenty of talent in the east for BC to get the job done in April.

Also, you shouldnt talk about "comedy," considering how your view of everything in the world is completely warped.

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Can't say I know much about MN's class for next year, but if it's better than BC's, it would have to be an All-World group, as BC's imcoming class is "on paper" the best I've seen in 25+ years. Cangelosi is arguably the top player in the USHL, Fitzgerald IS the top player in the East and Richardson is arguably the best player (along with Alex Kerfoot) coming out of the BCHL next year. Throw in Santini from the U-18 squad who's a likely NHL first rounder and his teammate Scott Savage, along with Chris Calnan who was a 3rd Rd NHL draft pick this year and you have a class that's pretty hard to beat.
Pfft... if they aren't from Minnesota, how good can they be? ;)

Then that really isn't having the "pick of the litter when it comes to kids who want to go the college route" then, ha?

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

For truth in advertising purposes the title to this thread needs to be changed to, "Who has the top recruiting class of 2013-14: Minnesota, BC or Michigan?" I don't know what's more amusing, the writer in the original link musing on next year's recruiting classes before this year's even get settled in their dorm beds, or this thread de-railing into what has become a now common JDUBBS-BC war of words.

BC sure does have a recruiting problem. That's for sure.

Who said they have a recruiting problem??? The question was, do they get the "pick of the litter" of ALL college bound players?

Oh that's right, you can tolerate pride from another fanbase. You just can't tolerate pride from what you claim to be your own.

By the way, I was at both of the Wild's development scrimmages, and Louie Nanne looked better than Adan Gilmour.

That's great, but it's meaningless coming from you. If someone with no bias or some humility said it than people would believe it.

Not at all. I'm a Louie Nanne fan. But, since I can't believe a word you say it's a meaningless comment.

I stand by the comment. Were you there?

Nanne looked better than I expected. He provided a spark when on the ice. Gilmour was unnoticeable. Haula didn't really stand out like I was hoping. Draeger (Shattuck\Mich State) looked good. Will Merchant (Maine) looked good. Very poised. Nick Seeler (Nebraska Omaha) looked very good too. Moved the puck well.

If it were anyone but you than standing by the comment then it would mean something. You have 0 credibility. You're overtly biased, and have no humility

We'll see if anyone else was there and disagrees with me. Meanwhile, you weren't there, and have nothing to offer on the topic. Other than your dire hope that I'm wrong, that is.

Re: 2012-13 Incoming Freshman Classes Write-Up

Adam Gilmour - ...was just there. He didn't play poorly or well which for a young mid-round pick isn't bad for his first development camp. Gilmour had his moments and hopefully like Seeler will take something from this weekend when he plays in the USHL.

Louie Nanne, in my opinion, didn't tear it up, but he was more noticeable. He played with more energy. Forechecked hard and caused a few turnovers.

In fairness though, Nanne was playing at home in a familiar environment and Gilmour was not.

The article didn't even mention Nanne (other than he played on the same line with Gilmour). The only opinion we're getting on him is from you, which as Scooby pointed, has zero credibility. Odd that they mention most of the prospects on the ice, but they mention nothing about Nanne.

Also, you left out this bit about Gilmour from the article...

First Round Bust Article said:
Gilmour's also a quintessential BC player.

As a college hockey fan who hopes that his team can get by BC one of these years...that scares me.
