Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Haha. You can take the Thrashers out of Atlanta, but you apparently can't take their draft skills out of the Jets. Welcome back, now trip and fall on the obvious choice for a reach, boys.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Hamilton, Seguin, and Knight for Kessel.

Well done, Burke. Well done.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

So, Kessel for Seguin, Knight, Hamilton. I'll do that trade in a heart beat from the Bruins perspective.

This one is for aparch....

Kirk Muller is taking the reigns of the Chicago Wolves, according to Montreal's CKAC.

Surprised he's not going to be a head coach in the NHL - he's paid his dues in Montreal

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

My record at the Bridgestone hardest shot booth has been smashed. So much for getting an NHL prize package.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

And of course, the first NCAA guy drafted the TSN guys immediately bring up, "Well, everyone will be pushing for him to join the OHL."

I root for the NCAA as much as you, but remove those blinders for a sec. They said Saginaw will push for him to join their team, and they were pretty even-handed in their treatment of J.T. Miller's decision of Plymouth vs. UND.

It's TSN; it's not like they're not going to openly root for the NCAA route.

Heard a rumor about that last night. Sounds like the Canucks are grooming a successor to take over for Vignault. (sp?). I heard that Muller was very open with the Canucks about it and felt he needed time at the helm of an AHL club before taking over in the NHL.

Thanks for confirming it. I'm excited to see how this works for the Wolves. Sounds like this is a long term agreement between the Canucks and Wolves. While I'll miss the Thrashers, I want to see how it goes with a parent organization that knows what to do.

Speaking of that, Bronconick: The Thrashers scouts are doing the draft. WPG couldn't fire them and get replacements in time for the Draft.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

This is like the worst draft ever. No trades, 10-15 minutes between picks, commercials after every pick. I'm pretty much stuck rating the sisters of the prospects for something to do.
