I've heard someone finally bought the shed and is planning on re-opening it. May have already even opened again. Jabber would be the one to ask about it.

WOW and thats coming frm a GB guy.......

I know! ... but I have to say from one who travels from GB to Syracuse and once in a while Oswego, you guys certainly are the varsity players when it comes to snow fall. By the way, I believe that we may have one week to celebrate Summer this year the way it has been in the last two weeks.

No question Western NY gets way more snow than Green Bay. It's not even close -- http://www.city-data.com/top2/c464.html

Heck, Hartford gets more snow than Green Bay. I don't know why Oswego isn't mentioned, because it's bigger than some of the other cities on that list (like Clay!), and it certainly gets a lot more snow than just about anyone on that list.

New York State Golden Snowball Award

As far as areas go, the top two in the country are usually the Tug Hill Plateau in NY and Michigan's northern peninsula.

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

Are you excluding mountain areas in the (actual)West, like Truckee, CA and Frazier, CO?

It must be. There are parts of Colorado that get over 400 inches a year and parts of Utah that get over 500 inches.

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

Donner Pass makes I-81 on its worst days look like a 16 lane highway in sunny florida thru most of the winter. You leave 50 degree Reno Nevada and end up in 55 degree Sacramento California, but what you encounter on the way there.....I have pictures some where of our trip thru last year...the snow banks were nearly twice as high as the plow trucks.

Re: 2011 Division III Commitments

Where I live in Utah we still have 200" of settled snow on the ground today and we are pushing 800" of total snowfall on the winter. Our second snowiest winter on record.

Here's our snowfall tracker from this season (we stop reporting when our ski area closes at the end of April). We've received another 4 ft. this week...

Frazier actually doesn't get that much, but still more than Oswego or the U.P.

The Summit Co. ski areas that Frazier sits at the bottom of generally have some of the lowest snow totals in the state. Check out Silverton and Wolf Creek for more Utah-esque numbers...

Frazier can be very cold, and calls itself "the ice box of America". I used to own property there.

Wolf Creek Pass has ridiculous numbers.

Yeah, it can be pretty cold there. Really high elevation. I'd even say their cold temps contribute to keeping the snow totals down, as opposed to more temperate areas like Tahoe or Washington (or here, to a lesser degree).

I love Frazier and skiing at Mary Jane
