Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Now what would happen to LSU if they lost to Georgia? Would they drop out of the Top 2 or flip-flop with Bama? If they drop out, I'm sure the free world is rooting for the Dogs.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Where's the rage, I sense no rage at all, I expected a lot more rage.

Yeah that looks more like his "O" face

It's "French" rage, guys. That's about proper rage for the French, especially during battle.

Well played sirs. It's (I'm assuming based on the double towels) during a third down so I'm in the middle of yelling, but yeah the timing is weird as I look more concerned than anything.

I just don't see it mattering anymore. Regardless LSU deserves to be in the title game. Wins over #2, 3, 4 alone.

PSU is going to a bowl, their president stated so, but they should be a lock for the Gator and likely aren't right now.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

I think there's enough interest in a non-rematch game to flip the polls (oh, the sanctity of the CFB postseason), but I don't think there's a clear cut favorite to replace Alabama now or LSU if they lose to Georgia, so they would hold on to 2nd by default by finishing 3rd on 60% of polls and 40% 2nd while Okie State, Stanford and Virginia Tech split 60% of the 2nd place votes and get smatterings of 3rd-6th place votes.

Florida was the clear cut choice by everyone anti-rematch in 2006 once USC lost.

Edit: On a side note, Mav, including the rankings of teams when they were beaten as opposed to what they're ranked now is a maddening annoyance.

Like so many things, it'll depend upon ESPN's spin and whatever is coming along as conventional wisdom... if there's enough who don't want it to happen then it won't.

Hey, with the BCS, it's like a playoff every week! Except for, you know, this week, when there is nothing national championship related on the line.

True, but regardless, those teams are now what? #2, #8, #9? Still beat three top 10 teams, and have taken care of everyone they should. LSU pretty much deserves the title game, IMHO.

Many of you have likely heard; Urban Meyer to OSU. Puke.

In other, not so shocking news, Newheisel is out at UCLA, and Erickson is out at ASU. Washington State is still thinking.

The ever so known "sources" have BSU's Peterson as the top choice for the Bruins.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

I think this season is the kind of one where Chris Petersen will be willing to listen to offers. Deep down, Boise has to know that this year would have been their best shot at hitting the national title game. They have a win over a 10-2 Georgia team playing LSU this weekend for the SEC crown (granted, they reached it primarily because their schedule missed Arkansas, Alabama and LSU in the regular season), there is no clear cut challenger for #2 leaving Alabama because they and LSU played 60+ minutes of "not to lose" football.

An undefeated Boise probably gets just enough interest from people hating the idea of a boring-*** rematch and, oh by the way, settling the question of how legit they are once and for all.

Agreed.
