Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

UCLA clinches the Pac12 South after Utah loses to Colorado. UCLA could very well, and most likely will, win this division finishing two games back of the leader due to the USC sanctions.

Now a question: Is it Rose Bowl or no bowl for UCLA? If they lose tomorrow they will be at 6-6, and a loss to Oregon would put them at 6-7. I always thought it was a .500 record that made a team bowl eligible, but according to wikipedia UCLA is eligible. Now, I know wikipedia isn't the best source but generally the people that are avid enough to edit an article, especially one so select as 2011-12 NCAA Bowl Games would know their stuff.

I must be missing something here. Wouldn't UCLA have to beat Oregon to make it to the Rose Bowl?

If a team plays 13 games (either because of a championship game or trip to Hawaii, they must win 7 games. So for UCLA it is the Rose Bowl or no bowl. Technically, UCLA is bowl-eligible until they pick up that 7th loss in the champ game.

LSU destroys Arkansas, which probably strengthens Alabama's case as well. The hopes of a nation are with Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

LSU has now beaten #2, 3, and 4 (at the time playing them) and deserves to be in the National Title game, period. Please Auburn, win!

OSU/UM is good game, as is ISU/OU.

Also, yesterday in Lincoln I saw a sign that read: "Even Tebow hates IOWA!"

The Tebow had halos around it, the Iowa had horns.:p

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Michigan getting beat at home by OSU to miss the BCS bowls would be hilarious.

For what it's worth, I just saw Stewart Mandel of SI saying that even if UCLA finishes 6-7, they could apply for (and probably get) a waiver to make them bowl eligible. Something about not enough Pac-12 teams.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Michigan got screwed on that TD call, then they shot themselves in the foot on that last run.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

That's not fair, Michigan was supposed to lose. Replay official doesn't decide to use the camera view that says the runner didn't get in, and then no one gets a holding and facemask penalty to push them back to the 25 if you aren't supposed to lose.

I suppose you aren't supposed to win either though when you spike it on 3rd and 6 after looking to the sideline for the play for 15 seconds. For leading that comeback against UW Braxton sure looked shaky on that last drive.

MN in the process of putting the final nail in the coffin that is(seemingly) Ron Zook's IL coaching career.

And MN Falls for the fake punt...being the Gopher fatalist I expect the worst. :D

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

What's not fair is that if MSU loses the BTcg Michigan could go to a better bowl than the spartys. Michigan and tBT champ will be the only 2 loss teams left.

That seems to be the norm with these conference championship games. Usually the loser of the game gets left out.

It'll be fun to be a part of history next week in the 1st B1G Championship Game. Should be a good game with Wiscy out of Madison where they aren't invincible.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

I think that it's safe to say Penn State won't be playing on New Year's Day.

That was unwatchable. :o
